Product Description

Super, indeed. By using a revolutionary new tear drop shape, bulk is reduced without sacrificing protection to critical impact areas. Kinetofoam padding provides superior impact absorption and a terry inner fabric absorbs sweat.

I bought one of each of the following: Brute Exo, Asics Unisex Gel Wrestling, and this Super Sleeve. I'll be buying another of the Super Sleeve.
The Brute Exo has a grippier exterior, so it seems to shift more despite fitting about the same as this pad. The Brute Exo is also less comfortable when it does shift as it has a place where your patella should fit, when it shift, this "pocket" kind of holds your knee cap askew.
The padding has held up better on the Super Sleeve and is a little more forgiving than the Unisex Gel Wrestling pad. The Unisex Gel shifted less than the Brute Exo but slightly more than the Super Sleeve.
    So: #1 Super Sleeve
    #2 Unisex Gel Wrestling
    #3 Brute Exo

Bought one for jiu-jitsu training, was wearing a different one (McDavid brand, gel, about $20) from Academy on the other knee, but after a few weeks bought a second Asics, well worth it. Maybe $10 more expensive than the other one but I couldn't find Asics in store, online only. Definitely worth the extra cash for my needs.
I crawl around on my knees rolling jiu-jitsu, and drop my 200 pounds onto my knees to get a take down. I've been doing more takedown training lately and that's what got me looking for quality knee pads.
Wrestlers and BJJ guys, go buy these!
You can throw them in the washing machine and lay them out to air dry. Very slight shrinkage, didn't affect fit, but air dry only!
I throw them in the washer with my BJJ gi and they're fine, didn't bleed black onto my white gi.
(One Asics logo letter peeled off with each wash on one pad, the other is still perfect. Maybe the heatpress wasn't hot enough for the production run on pad #1 but really not important, just FYI!)
    I'm 5'9", 200lbs, I got size Large. (Doing BJJ since 1999)

I use this for Brazilian Jiu-jitsu. I wear it with a gi majority of the time.
The sleeve is what it is. A sleeve and it fits like one.
Other pads I've tried: mizuno vball pads and brute torque wrestling knee pad.

    Pros:
    Light
    Good fit
    Good enough padding
    Slight compression
Air holes (although it didn't really serve a function with a gi on)
Slight padding on sides of knee
Full extension and flexion if the knee (although there is slight resistance when flexing)
Comfortable. I don't even notice it while training.

    Cons:
    This material absorbs sweat quickly
Material bunches up behind knee when bent. I think a mesh backing would be nicer. Perhaps a small portion would even help.
Too long. A lower profile sleeve would be nice. It extends pretty high up from the knee.
Slightly shifts. The gel is thickest at the center but I notice it shifting left or right slightly. Adjusting is difficult once you start to sweat

I haven't washed it yet but I've had a knee brace with similar material and if it is the same washing might loosen the stitching and expand the material. Also since you can't machine dry it , in the winters if it doesn't dry quickly it'll smell.

I use this primarily because I have patella tendon pain when on my knee for too long. It also helps absorb the impact for shooting in and if you accidentally brace a fall with you knee.

For the price it gets the job down. If it last a few years it'll be even better.

I never had another kneepad, so I can't compare it with other kneepads. But this product worked fine for me and was surprisingly comfortable. It was also machine washable, which was a big plus. I deducted one star because after the first wash, some of the threads came loose a little.

I brought this knee pad after reading several different reviews. I did my research and took my measurements of my knee area. This pad was just too small i could barely get it up past my calve. The padding that goes over the knee was not bad but it wasn't great. I returned this pad and opted going with the Brute Torq, which provides excellent coverage when I'm rolling or grappling.

Both of my boys use this and it has helped a great deal. No more listening to whining teenage boys about hurt knees.
