I bought one of these in October 2000. It is still going strong. I am not sure about lifetime, but so far it is still shining bright and doesn't show any signs of giving out. Like the other reviewer, I am going to buy a couple more to keep around the house.

I bought some of these lights after seeing one a friend had. The bulbs come in several colors, but I like the blue one the best. Amber, red, and green are not as bright, and the color is distracting. Those colors would be okay for something like concerts or signaling or something. The white light seems to have a hot spot like most flashlights. The blue lights up the dark the same way a bright moon does on a clear night. It's bright enough to see very well in the dark, but without the hot spot that white flashlights give.

As far as lasting a lifetime, I don't think they mean that it will actually last a lifetime, but they do offer to replace battery and/or led free for your lifetime--with the standard handling fee, which ends up being about what it costs to buy a new one. I've had mine for several years now, and use them constantly. Mine are just now beginning to be hard to light; either the switch is getting worn or battery is getting low. I plan to send them back in, or just replace them with new ones, because I like them so much. They're well worth the price. A couple of mine have even been through the washer and dryer and still work (although the dryer deformed the plastic case a little). That's good to know if you plan to use yours in the outdoors--if you drop it in the water, it'll still work. The one thing that would make this light perfect, and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that it needs some way to turn it on permanently. As it is you have to keep the button pressed down to make it light. A great tool. Highly recommended!

I had one of these for a year and beat it up everyday on my keyring.It worked great,though you have to be careful of the plastic clip.I made the mistake of upgrading to the one that can stay on permenantly and signals sos.It only lasted about ten or eleven months.The switch has a tendency to turn on by itself and stay on in your pocket,burning out the battery in a few months.The clip broke as well.Stick with the original model or try the Princeton Tec Pulsar.The Asp was definitely one of the most useful things I've ever had,and I used it almost daily.Surprisingly bright light.

This handy little LED light is one of the best tools I have ever purchased. I don't know what I did without it. It works great on your keyring, but is also great to keep beside your bed, in your toolbox, or in your car. I have bought a couple more just to have in separate places throughout my house.

You can't beat the lifetime warrenty and made in the USA. Awesome Tool!!

After two months, the plastic clip broke, making this clip light useless. I would not recommend buying this product. All of lights have plastic clips, and will undoubtedly break the same way. Since the product is trashed, there is no way to evaluate whether the light/battery/switch will actually last. A metal clip or more durable mechanism is advisable...but the manufacturer has continued to make it this way for a long time.

Love the light...very powerful for its size. We use it for camping or overnights in strange places when we are not sure where the bathroom is. Easy to pack and transport with you.

This little light is very bright and works well. I have carried one in my pocket almost every day for years. If you have one that gets broken just ship it back to ASP and they replace it free!

Yes it's a little expensive...
But it is the best key chain light I have ever owned. It is not intended for long use, just when you really need it.
I bought mine two years ago and it is still ready for dark stairs and finding key holes in dimly lit areas.
I'm buying more as gifts.

This is my 4th Sapphire light I have purchased. It comes in handy all the time. When you don't need it, you forget its there. Also makes a great gift.

I AM STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE THIS ITEM WHICH, ACCORDING TO THE SELLER, WAS SHIPPED ON MARCH 15, 2009. I WAS TOLD THAT I NEEDED TO WAIT UNTIL APRIL 6, 2009 BEFORE THEY WOULD CONSIDER ANY ACTION, TO ALLOW FOR DELAYS IN MAILING. SINCE APRIL 6TH, I HAVE EMAILED THE SELLER TWICE, TO REQUEST THAT THEY SEND A REPLACEMENT FOR THE ITEM, OR TO SEND ME A REFUND. AS OF THIS DATE, THEY HAVEN'T BOTHERED TO REPLY. I WILL NEVER USE THIS SELLER AGAIN, AND MAY HAVE TO RESORT TO SOME OTHER FURTHER ACTION TO RECEIVE THE ITEM OR A REFUND.
