This book is providing necessary information about the basics of Asp. I tought the video cd's coming within the book are hands on training but I have to admit that I am a bit disappointed. Cd's are not useful but they are full of unnecessary talking. Far from a tutorial. For its high price, the book doesn't worth to purchase.

THis isn't even a real book. The book is actually a power point presentation taken to kinko's to be copied and bound. You might think that all the money you paid went into making a really cool learning tool (the Video CD)... but the video lessons are unprofessionally done... very generic, not helpful... All together the lessons are only 1.5 hours long, most of which could have been condensed into 30 minutes. I would not recommend this book, even as a joke!

The books has a mistache when it looks only for VB Scripts programmers and forgot the pure JavaScript programmers. If you know only VB Scriptps - and use it to write your scripts - your client side scripts only run in IE, but if you use JavaScript (you can use JavaScript in server side scripts too) in client side scripts it will run on IE, Explorer, and others. I thinks a good book about ASP need to explain how to program in ASP with JavaScript.

The ASP Fundamentals Course was a different kind of experience. The VideoCDs that came with it give short, less informative, overviews of the modules and labs. The student guide and the labs carry the course and I found the web site helpful to direct questions about the course to the instructor. The ADO and Cookies modules are the most helpful. If you would like some handholding through your first steps of ASP this course saves some upfront time in researching issues.

Needed to know only the basics of ASP for a product we're purchasing - didn't have time to take a class so I was able to watch this video and get a look at ASP without spending the time or money for a seminar.

The instructor is dry, but the labs gave a good start on ASP. Cookies module was helpful.
