I got this for a steal of a deal. People on newegg have had problems with this motherboard accepting memory and/or overheating. With a low price I took a chance and it worked out great for me. Posted immediately, took my memory, already upgraded with latest firmware so I didn't have to pull out my floppy drive.

Pros: Cheap, worked. Box has lots of logos, certifications on it.
Cons: Box didn't have a car, motorcycle, dragon, or fantasy gamer chick.

I think that ASRock has improved its manufacture process and quality check in current year 2010. The ASRock x58 Extreme board that I received has already has had its BIOS updated to v2.3. I don't detect any bent pins on the motherboard, and on the CPU socket. My assembled system can POST (Power on Self Test) immediately and my DDR3 memory can run at speed 1600..

System configuration:
1) ASRock x58 Extreme motherboard (mb)
2) Galaxy GT 240 1M DDR3 PCI-E video card
3) 2G x 3 Corsair 7-8-7-20 DDR3 memory modules.
4) Intel i7 930 CPU
5) Windows 7 64 bit Operating System.
7) Western Digital Black 1T SATA hard drive.

This motherboard can use old power supply that used to have main-20 pins and 12V-4 pins, without cable adapter, instead of main-24 pin and 12V-8 pins.

The temperature of the CPU and motherboard is initially around 32C and 30C respectively, and when the CPU is running many processes and threads, the temperature can reach 49C, and the mb can reach 41C...

I searched online and found that it is at best to keep the CPU temperature under 70C, whenever the system is under heavily load.

Very nice motherboard here. Looks pretty good and it's just as functional. Lots of choices in the BIOS and everything running stable. Had no issues with it so far.
