Great toy for my Son age 5 and Nephew age 8. They loved putting the gliders together and flying them wherever we would let them. These turned out to be one of the best and least expensive gifts for Christmas. They are no more durable than you would expect for a foam glider so I gave each of them a hand full and my son is still flying the couple that arn't broke. I kept a bunch for rewards when he's good and special occasions when I need to distract him and his friends.

We bought these as favors for my son's "airplane" party and they fit the occasion perfectly. They aren't durable - after 10 or 20 tosses the foam starts denting and they don't fly well (if at all). But for the price, I didn't expect them to last long. They remind me of the dime-store plastic parachuters I bought and threw off the balcony as a kid - we would lose them after a few throws and run to buy more. There are a ton in the box and it's nothing to put them together, just grab another one and go again! We had a great time with these and I kept a bunch for the big boys. (I think my husband and father-in-law had more fun than the kids.) I thought it was cute that they come in different designs.
Note the plastic choking hazard and watch the little ones. Don't expect these to last but enjoy them while they do.

For the price, you can't beat these. We used them as decorations and favors for a baby boy's shower - everyone loved playing with and throwing them and the adults loved talking about the historical significance of each of the types of planes. Putting them together was a bit tedious and the foam board was easy to bend. I wouldn't suggest these for long-term use; it was perfect for the afternoon, though.

I'd bought a similar item years ago from Oriental Trading, and those were great. But these are simply terrible. None of the parts fit together tightly--you slide the wings in and they literally fall right out. The propellers have a considerable amount of flashing stuck to them, which catches and makes them not turn. I wound up having to superglue the wings in and take a lighter over the plastic propeller parts to melt away the flashing.
Also, the paper isn't well glued to the foam, so the paper flies off the fuselage. The tail slot is cut at too sharp an angle, so even if the wings stay on, the planes just want to pull straight up, stall, and crash. The ones we had before flew great, I dug an old beat-up one out of a box in the attic and it flew 30+ feet when I tossed it. The "same" model from this batch barely goes 5 feet. Basically, they fly like crap and fall apart. I'm going to order some from Oriental Trading to see if all the ones produced nowadays are this bad.

I bought these to aid in teaching "flight" to children in 2nd and 4th grades. It was nice to have an inexpensive set with many different patterns so the children could distinguish their planes. The planes fly well and are attractive, but can easily be damaged when building them. If they survive the building process, they will land gently enough to not break when being used. I would estimate that 1/4 of my 4th graders and 1/3 of my 2nd graders were unable to build them without cracking the foam of their glider, even in a calm atmosphere where I emphasized taking great care. They did glue easily, though, so the children were able to fly them later even if they cracked them.
Even though they are fragile, they flew well and I would buy them again for another class.

The planes were used in an Assisted Living Senior Community to have a little fun celebrating Aviation Day. The residents had a chance to fly their planes for the longest distance competition. The planes were easy to put together, a variety of styles were great. A resident familiar with the styles explained when and where the planes types were flown. All in all, it brought out the kid in everyone and there were lots of laughs. Left over planes will be given to family members visiting for the holidays as a small token....

I teach H.S. Aerospace Science, and when the curriculum covered the Four Forces of Flight, this was perfect. Every student got to pick out their "own" glider, constructed it and got do demonstrate the 4 forces. Great price, great quality and held up pretty well considering they are made of styrofoam. Will buy more when I run out.

You get a ton (48) and it is a very good deal considering, but some of them will be missing pieces (about 5 or so in my batch of 48).
These are really fun for parties and small children. You can make a new one each time you break another one. Lasts a long time.

This is a throw away toy airplane, and keeping that in mind, still not good for what it is. Before even playing with it, the outside was separating from the foam center...meaning it affected the flying. I would pass.
