This great book from the Hawaiian producers of Natural Astaxanthin from the Haematococcus microalgae clarifies why it is crucial to use NA. Synthetic A. is the most commonly sold form of A. Less than 1 percent of Natural Astaxanthin from microalgae or krill is on the market.
If we use synthetic Astaxanthin, we eat petrochemicals. Only algae-based A. formulas can bring the health benefits such as better eye-sight, fewer fatigue, less gum problems, colds and flues, acne and vitiligo, tendonitis relief...
Since many fish farmers use synthetic A. eating salmon and trout does not necessarily give you the benefits of NA. Also Phaffia derived Astaxanthin is not recommended, since the yeast derived A. has been subjected to genetic manipulation and therefore it is no natural product.
All in all this is a very informative book!
I especially enjoyed the many many testimonials from all over the globe.
