Best gpu for ~200 (amazon had them for 209.99 or so)
--overview---
ive had this card for almost a month now, and its AMAZING
this card is capable of running games like crysis 3 or saints row IV on high-ultra while maintaining a stable 40-60fps 2 1080p
the card itself is quiet if set to auto fan mode, but is VERY loud when the fans are overrided to 100%
ASUS's software is very simple and handy, it can do everything from overclocking (the gpu) to monitoring the fan speeds and temp.

in depth, this card is ~29 cm (back plate to very front tip), and was long to the point where i had to move it to a second pci-e slot so it wouldent hit (or at least bend) my usb3.0 header (sabertooth 990fx r2.0 mobo)

this card also needs 2 (TWO) pci-e 6 pin connectors with a draw of 170 or so (yes, only 170, i actually own one, so no h8 plz)

asus also includes a 2x4pin (old) to pcie 6pin adapter (only one though)
which in my personal opinion will be handy if your psu only has 2 pcie headers and you want to crossfire (bridge included)

--PCI-E GPUs for people----
pci-e 3.0 2.1, 2.0, and 1.1 are all fully forward and backwards compatible, so you can install this gpu as long as you have: I. enough room (due to length) II. big enough power supply (cpu + gpu ratings + 10-50 for safety measures) III. ANY pci-e slot

---EYEFINITY-READ----
Only a combination of 1DVI+1HDMI or 2DVI can be used, the 3rd screen must be connected via ACTIVE displayport adapter, a passive will NOT work

I had a Gigabyte GTX 650 Ti Boost that went on the fritz. I decided I wanted to try out AMD cards for their upcoming Mantle support in Battlefield 4. The Gigabyte Windforce Cooler was very loud, even at idle speeds. The Asus R9 270x is extremely quiet compared to the Gigabyte at idle. And much quieter under full load. I hardly even notice the Asus in my system when playing games because the only time it starts to get somewhat loud is when the game action starts ramping up. Then when "loading" screen appear, it quiets right down. Sometimes I can hear the fans spin down, but usually it is fast enough not to notice.

Most of my computer use is NOT GPU gaming. So having a quiet GPU cooler is essential. This card fits the bill. It is about as quiet at Idle as my system's internal 7200RPM drives and quieter than my external USB 3.0 WD myBook drives. The card sits in a Fractal Design R4 ATX case, which is fairly quiet to begin with. Some cases with side vents may find the card noisier.

Tested with Battlefield 4, Call of Duty Ghosts, Bioshock Infinite, and Payday 2 with max settings. All perform perfectly.

excelent gpu, works very fast, very quiet and very cool, no need for overcloking or anything
i tested in several games like battlefield 4 in ultra and high settings, gives me 35 to 45 fps in ultra and 50-70fps in high, very good against my previous card xfx ati radeon hd 5770 with this card i got 25-35fps in high and ultra without antialiasing 20-27fps, so it was a big improvement in performance, i think i can get more of this card r9 270x with amd fx 8350, i was using fx 4100 bulldozer good but not fast cpu

my pc when i do the battlefield 4 test
cpu amd fx 4100 3.6ghz @4.2ghz
1tb seagate barracuda 7200rpm sata2
motherboard asus m5a88-m am3+
6gb ddr3 amd performance 1600mhz
600 watts real dr hank
cooler master 212 evo
amd radeon r9270x at factory default
all the test was in resolution 1920*1080p

I recently purchased this board as an upgrade to an Asus GeForce 550ti. To preface this review, I built my system a little over a year ago. A short while after I started using the system and gaming, my graphics card failed, I contacted Asus and had to bring my system in to a repair shop to have an analysis made. The board was indeed faulty($50.00) charge. I shipped the board back to Asus and they returned the same board a couple of weeks later, the board worked well for a couple of weeks and then the same problem returned, my system would crash, BSOD, no reboot unless I removed the board. So again I contacted Asus, I was issued an RMA and they shipped a replacement board immediately, which I felt they should have done the first time as the board was under warranty. The board they sent has worked fine.

A few months later I decided to upgrade my graphics card, so the tech at my local shop suggested I try AMD R9s for gaming. After researching I settled on trying this unit. The unit worked beautifully for several hours, then the same problem returned, BSOD, then unable to reboot the system until I removed the board. Yes, I was beginning to wonder if there was a problem with my system. For the record, the build consists of Intel i5 3570, 8 gigs of Ram Corsair Vengeance. Asus P8Z77-V LE Motherboard, Ultra 750W PSU, Windows 7. Shouldn't be any compatibitlity issues. Fortunately I purchased the board thru Amazon, as I now do with literally everything. So I simply returned the board and decided to try an EVGA board instead and go back to Nvidia. I purchased the EVGA 760 super clocked and it has operated flawlessly,(so it doesn't appear to be a problem with the system)the graphics are stunning as were Asus, it is a bit louder than the Asus card, but no deal breaker.
