5.0 out of 5 stars I like this router
I originally purchased this router to replace an old wireless G router. I figured I should step up to see what Wireless N had to offer. I was not disappointed. Good features. Nice user interface. QOS seems to work well. This is a nice performing, wireless N router, and it's got gigabit as well. I'm happy with my purchase.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadfull, buggy, useless
Worst router I've ever used.

Connections drop out, freezes, have to constantly reset to maintain internet connectivity (if you can connect). Inferface has dreadful mangled engrish.

Swapped it out for the old netgear router while I wait to send it back.

It may be cheap but spend a bit more and get a different unit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Asus is a great company, October 7, 2010
This review is from: ASUS RT-N15 Wireless-N Gigabit Router (Personal Computers)
This router meets my expectations. Wireless N and 4 Gigabit LAN connections make it a worthy upgrade to my old router. No problems. I like the way the blue led lights look. I got it used on Amazon for a great price. Asus puts out another great product.

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard to configure, hard to make web connections, September 16, 2010

I've just set mine up, which took a couple hours, in part because almost any change to the router settings requires it to take about a minute to reboot.

I've yet to test the wireless capability.

The wired capability is really poor. I have a Motorola DSL box between the router and the world. Connecting through the Motorola at all was fussy, but doable. However, about half the time I point my browser at a site, the connection fails to materialize. "Can't find www.amazon.com"?

I haven't done any long downloads or streaming to see whether it drops the connection once established, but this hit or miss connectivity to the web simply doesn't cut it. Have never had this kind of problem with any other of the half dozen routers I've used. Back it goes.

1.0 out of 5 stars Asus Support = terrible (product NOT as advertised), May 21, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ASUS RT-N15 Wireless-N Gigabit Router (Personal Computers)
Do NOT purchase this product if you intend to create a wireless bridge between two RT-N15s. The manual states the following regarding Wireless-Bridge:

*******

Bridge (or named WDS - Wireless Distribution System) function allows you to connect to APs through wireless. Please follow instructions listed below when you enable this function:

Select[WDS Only] or [Hybrid] mode and add MAC address of APs in Remote Bridge List.

For ensure the connection, please setting the same channel and security method between different APs.

To bridge different model and RT-N15, the function only support [Open system WEP] security authentication method.

*******

These statements make it seem that encryption is supported for bridging two RT-N15s but only Open System (no encryption) is supported for bridging a "different model" with an RT-N15. That was my reason for purchasing two of this product.

When I was unable to get the bridging function to work with encryption, I contacted Asus support. After multiple emails and phone calls over 2 weeks (including sending my request to R&D in China), Asus concluded that they would not meet their own specs. Further, they would not fix the problem and they would not replace or exchange the product.

During an email exchange with Asus support, I stated:

<---
You will notice the highlighted section says "To bridge different model and RT-N15". That is why I purchased two RT-N15's to bridge together (rather than an RT-N15 and some other model). You will notice that the sentence before the highlighted one says to select "same channel and security method between different APs". After that it says if you use a different model (different than the RT-N15), it will only support Open System.
--->

However, according to Asus support, DIFFERENT model also means SAME model. Here is their response:

<---
"The "To bridge different model and RT-N15" also covers the two RT-N15 routers."
--->

Bottom line: Asus will not fix or replace the product even though it obviously does not comply with their own specifications. Very disappointing.

1.0 out of 5 stars do not buy this router, August 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: ASUS RT-N15 Wireless-N Gigabit Router (Personal Computers)
I was in the market for a new router because my netgear wireless g router was showing signs of death. This was understandable because it is several years old. I thought I would try the ASUS router because it had the features of the netgear router I was looking at for about half the price.

I received this router on a Monday. I have setup a couple of different routers before and it only took a several minutes and thought this would be the same. Well it took only a few minutes to setup as an open network without any security. Now when I tried to secure the wireless network something got messed up and I was unable to get the internet to come up either wired or wireless. The doctor image in their setup was giving some sort of error message that did not mean much to me. After monkeying with it for about 45 minutes I gave up and called technical support. I spent an hour on the phone trying various things until it finally worked.

Wednesday, I was online playing a game then all of a sudden I was booted off the internet. Well I shut down the power of the cable modem and the router. When it came back up I refreshed a page on a computer that had a wired connnection. Well it refreshed ok but as soon as I tried to navigate or bring up a different page I was booted of the internet again. This time I monkeyed with it for about a half an hour before calling technical support. Now when I called technical support they told me to reset the router and I did. This time when it came back up I was unable to use the routers gateway to get into the settings. After about another half an hour and still unable to get into the routers settings the technical support person told me it was defective.

I then reconnected my netgear wireless g router and everything worked as it should.
