Product Alert:IPS (In-Plane-Switching) is a new technology for LCD displays that offers users wider viewing angles and bolder colors by allowing more light to pass through the panel. As a result, IPS panels can exhibit a slight glow around the edges and corners (also known as light bleed), which is entirely normal.

This tab is no different from the regular tf300t(aside from the obvious lte part). I am writing the review from the tab with no dock. The asus keyboard is slow and cumbersome so i recomend turning the google keyboard to default. The only other thing i recomend is swype beta, works great. I actually bought this tablet from Best Buy expecting a regular 16Gb tf300t, no lte for $280 on sale. When i recived it, even the Best Buy guys didnt know this version existed. I recomend you do some serious considering about this version as the regularis much cheaper as of now. The ONLY bad thing i can find so far is my version with the US SKU does not get the Jelly Bean updte and in not sure it ever will. In my lap im amazed how fast it types. Becauseit isa virtual keyboard im sure there are plenty of mistakes i here. All in all very highly recomended. Parting comment, dontknow if its the lte version or what but it is actually clocked at 1.5Ghz, not a big deal to many but makes a difference but asi use it for gaming, its nice. Last thing i discovered while writing this review, this tablets Google or pure android keyboard has gestures on it, which is googles version of swype.

Update 1/12/13- So. I have knocked off a star because I managed to kill one. It is a software glitch in the asus software. I downloaded Beats audio drivers and tried to install because i saw good reviews and saw someone with a TF300T had reviewed it great. It went well, untill i had to reboot. It never boot. So now on the second one, typing with the new dock i just got, and love it. Definantly recomend it to anyone that prefers a mouse.

Update 1/19/13- I have now created a little docking aerea on my desk where i have a USB hub plugged into the dock. Android does support multiple devices being plugged into one usb port.

The 1st gotcha for the Asus Transformer TF300TL (LTE-enabled) is a screen display that turns into a series of black lines upon wake-up from sleep mode. Luckily this problem has already been fixed by Asus with a firmware upgrade. But to get it, you must become connected to the Internet via LTE or WiFi. The workaround until the upgrade is installed is to power off.

The 2nd gotcha is with AT&T: they require you to use their data service for at least 3 months (if you're postpaid), or SIX months if you're prepaid. Not normally a problem, unless you're travelling internationally for then & want to use a foriegn SIM card :(

The 3rd issue is with VERY FEW Android apps. 2 that i care about are RingCentral's VoIP solution (for which AT&T has its own version) and Office Talk (an Instant Messaging app for corporate users of Microsoft's Office Communicator Service (OCS)).

I've asked RingCentral to update their standard app's Play store settings to allow AT&T Transformers to access the non-AT&T app, which is currently 'not compatible' to install. Hopefully i will be able to make/accept phone calls like before soon.

I don't yet have a solution for an Android OCS client.

4thly, the firmware-provided Office-compatible tool (Polaris 3.5) takes a long time to save changed documents AND you can't upgrade it - v4.0 is 'not compatible'. The favorite alternative seems to be Kingsoft Office.

But, aside from all that, i love my new toy. The keyboard & bluetooth headset have just arrived and am looking forward to being able to get rid of my phone AND laptop !

Permit me to use the Apple example>>when an iPad is marketed as being the AT&T version, its assumed that any GSM sim in Europe and otherwise will work on it.Meaning that the device is unlocked..
in the TF300TL's case it was not.
It is specifically for AT&T use and is locked to their SIM card and network. Calling and emailing the network provider for the unlock code was not the solution>its locked to AT&T for life..

unfortunately, i bought mine from Adorama and shipped to Nigeria, expecting to use the GSM radio, alas i couldn't..If i had read (or even saw that anywhere) that it was exclusively for AT&T ,i would have gone for the TF300 without the GSM 4G radio instead...

SO please note, its an at&t exclusive product.Apart from that, its a fine brand that i will prefer and recommend over my iPad 3rd gen any day..

Update: Adorama shipped me a 3G router Mifi device (Huawei e586) at no extra cost.

I have been holding out buying a tablet for a long time .... mainly waiting for 1 thing ... cellular !!!

Yes I know the iPad have had that all along, but I just didn't want to buy an iPad m'kay !?! I was holding out for the Surface Pro to deliver .... buh ... even with its high price point at ~$1000 with keyboard all it really gives you is a show-off laptop with wifi,

Then I came across this little fella in a Micro Center store and fell in love right away. Started doing research and reading reviews and nothing I found said "Don't buy this" ... quite the opposite. Yes I know you can get the ASUS prime version that weighs a little less and has better resolution if you are willing to let go of an extra $100 .... but honestly ... I have watched video, played games and browsed on this thing and it is REALLY responsive .... I am not missing a thing whatsoever.

I did buy it slightly used on Amazon (duh ... review ... hello), so I do not know for sure how this little fella was 'broken in', but it seems that the battery lasts for about 5-6 hours at decent light intensity. Not what is advertised, but not too bad at all.

And I completely forgot to mention ... This little guy has 4G LTE .... yes baby !!! getting this baby mobile shortly and may even cough up the doe for the transformer dock to add that extra battery life and SD capacity

As I understand it ... the unit has 32GB built in and you can add 32GB of SD to the tablet and an additional 64GB to the dock -> 128GB of storage and 4 cores @ 1.2GHz + WiFi + cellular $450 ($350 used) ..... take THAT apple and Microsoft !!!
