Pros:

1) 16:9 true widescreen display perfect for dvd and blu-ray movies as well as having 2 windows open

2) 1600x900 is 900p near 1080p which is full hd and the difference in pq is negligible

3) good looking monitor

4) sturdy stand and screen tilts up and down

5) *asus 3 years manufacturer's warranty a big plus*

6) no dead pixels

7) very good color saturation

8) cool options like theater mode and scenery mode enhances pq

9) hdcp compatible monitor for viewing hd content like blu-ray movies

10) low refresh rate of 5ms makes it great for pc games

11) includes vga cable, dvi cable, audio cable, software, and instructions

12) great value

Cons:

can't cook my meals

1) built-in speakers are unremarkable but at least it has one

2) would've been great if resolution was 1920x1080 full hd

3) would've been nice to have hdmi input and usb input like dell monitors

one of the best monitors under $150. i avoided refurbished due to only 90 days warranty and not much cheaper. length of warranty is very important. samsung, lg, acer, asus, aoc, hanns-g, and nec all have 3 years warranty. viewsonic, hp, and sceptre only have 1 year warranty. the hp 2009m is actually a better looking monitor however i opted to get this due to asus reputation and 3 yrs warranty. can't go wrong with this monitor!

playing blu-ray movies requires a sata blu-ray drive, good video card with 512mb memory, good cpu of at least 2.0ghz dual core and above, and a good video software like powerdvd 8 deluxe and above. also windvd 9 blu-ray edition works well.

This is a long overdue upgrade for me from 15 in. monitor. Came down between Asus, LG and Acer 20 inch widescreens. Could not find any reviews about it online. But this is why I picked it:

Pros: It does not have a shiny screen, yet has great colors and bright enough for me. I went and looked in the stores at several monitors and decided to skip them when I saw how shiny/reflective the screen was (Acer). I prefer a monitor that won't reflect surrounding lights. I could not determine this from the descriptions/pictures. Great for photography/post processing. Having EPEAT Gold is a plus, saves power. The price is right. Cables included.

Cons: Speakers are laptop like, but it is better than nothing. I wish it came with USB connections on monitor for convenience. Too new to assess reliability.

I use two monitors on my Apple iMac to give me a larger desktop for doing audio and video production work in my recording studio. I recently had the old 19" Proview 4 by 3 flat panel monitor I'd been using for about 8 years give out and needed to replace it. Since I had room constraints as to how large a monitor would fit on the studio desk, I looked around for a while trying to decide on what would be the best 20" monitor to use as a replacement for my old one and finally settled on the Asus VH202T-P wide screen flat panel monitor, linked to here

I wasn't sure how well the monitor would work out in my studio when I bought it, but was very pleasantly surprised after receiving and installing it into my system. This monitor has brilliant video quality, a fast response time, and good color control as well as some very nice features, especially when considering the price of admission. Although I do not need or use the speakers in my studio, that are a part of the monitor, I can see where this could be very convenient, especially in an application where there is little room for installing an external speaker system. Also, having both a VGA and DVI connection for the monitor to the computer is a big plus, especially when hooking up to my iMac.

I've had this monitor for about a month and a half now and all in all I can not imagine a better monitor, especially considering the price I paid. I heartily recommend the Asus VH202T-P monitor for any installation where you need a great monitor for a good price in the 20" size class. And it was a great no hassle buy with all the benefits that come along with doing business with Amazon.

After having an Acer 22" flat screen fail in 18 months (price > $200) I decided to try this monitor. The colors are bright and clear and the (<

$150) price was right. Some of the screen modes make the text hard to read but considering the price, this is a good value over all.

The book that came with it has every language on the planet and very little instructions... Somehow monitor got into Splendid demo mode (what ever the heck that is)and a message was stuck on the screen. I was just about to ship it back when I finally figured out how to clear it.. The set up menu is very badly designed. It has up and down arrows but no sideways arrows. You have to fiddle around with the buttons and finally one will make it go sideways.

Plus the buttons are very hard to push...

I have it hooked in VGA mode with standard graphics on board main board. Will install a super graphics card later.. Right now it only runs at 1152X864 pixels probably due to on board graphics..

The display is clear as a bell and pleasant to look at. I am sure I have a lot of fiddling to do to get the aspect set to full screen....

I don't recommend this monitor for a beginner. The book is worthless except for how to install the stand (very easy just clips together.

Next day additional comments:

I rebooted the computer and monitor came up with a full screen (1600x900 pixels).

Beautiful color and I am really impressed. I dropped the screen back to 1200 to make it easier to work with larger characters (still full screen). The monitor is clear as a bell with beautiful colors. Other than the goofy setup menu it is great.

Watching Netflix is really nice. I discovered that it has a easy tilt stand and very sturdy. A big plus is that it has a small footprint. When I removed the old very large monitor, I found all kinds of lost stuff. There was a dead mouse or an old sandwich covered with mold way in the back..

I would rate it as a five star, except for the lack of instructions. Yeah it has a better manual on a dvd but still not much on setup instructions.

I am going to buy another for my Flight Sim system (I enjoy flying a D-28 twin turbo across Alaska with full graphics and real time weather).

Okay, this is a nice screen and for the price I didn't expect much more then just an okay pic. It gives a good picture and after tweeking the resolution, I'm great with it. I didn't need fancy, I just needed vision. So if this is what you require then this is your screen. If perfection is what you need, spend 300 and/or review more choices.

The volume is not so good...I connected computer speakers for a better sound.

I now have two of these monitors and am very happy with them. For the price, the monitors are very good quality with good contrast and zero ghosting. The only draw back is the lack of height adjustment, which if you have a good desk with a monitor stand, is not a problem. I received mine with no dead pixels and have not had a problem with their function.

I purchased this monitor for my son who decided to spend his hard earned "graduation" money on a new gaming desktop. We initially set it up with an older 17" CRT monitor and it looked ok, but when we hooked it up to this monitor his newest gaming addiction "RIFT" looked awesome. Very pleased with the quality.

This is a great monitor for the price. I like the fact it has DVI input on it. The resolution, color and contrast is great as well. I would recommend this monitor to anyone.

First order of this product was not received. Second effort was received in just one day (thanks for the customer service, Amazon!). Anyway, this product functions well and has a clear picture. The reason for the 4* rating is that the manual is worthless and the website support is useless. I am not convinced I have the correct drivers installed for the best performance but what I have now seems to be working well. Good product for the price.
