4.0 out of 5 stars Overall a pretty good product for the price.
I bought this phone with answerer after a bit of research on the many different ones out there. I didn't want to spend a lot of money (there are the new 4.8 GHz phones out there) but I wanted a system that was expandable for rooms without a phone jack and a digital answerer. What I liked about the individual handsets was that each operated also as a speakerphone. It's...

This review is from: AT&T 2325 2.4 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID (Office Product)
Bought this phone because of the "memory match" feature - Caller ID is supposed to display the name of the caller as it is saved in your directory - like a cellphone. Catch is that this only works for local callers, if you saved the number with a "1-" prefix, no match. Called ATT customer service to discuss the issue, but they couldn't understand a word I said because I was using the handset speakerphone. Returned it the very next day.

It's great when you have a 18 month old who always wants to get on the phone when they see you talking, just press the speakerphone button, let them hold the phone and you can still hear and converse with the caller on the other end. The sound quality is pretty clear (having been on the opposite end of a speakerphone call) and the digital answerer is okay - could be better but I've definitely had worse. Overall, I'm fairly satisfied with this phone and would recommend one to try it if they are looking for a similar system.

Agree with all of the reviews below. Phone is lousy. Handset is not ergonomic at all. Hard to dial. Heard to hear. Bought this at Costco--should have read the reviews first. My mistake.

3.0 out of 5 stars Defective LED, Great Phone Book, April 19, 2005

This review is from: AT&T 2325 2.4 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID (Office Product)
I got this phone along with three additional handsets for Christmas and was very pleased with the simplicity of set-up and programming. In March one of the handset began losing some of its LED display on the screen. It is now April and the entire LED is completely blank. We have not done anything outside of its normal use to cause such a malfunction. I will try to contact the Manufacturer and see if they will replace this defective handset under Warranty or not.

Other than this flaw, the rest of the phone(s) work great. The speakerphone feature is excellent, and so is the clarity in the calls. My favorite part about these phones is that you only need to program a Phone Book entry into one handset and it automatically populates into any additional handsets you have.

1.0 out of 5 stars 2 tin cans and a string, December 18, 2004
This review is from: AT&T 2325 2.4 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID (Office Product)
This system is pure junk. Sound reproduction is distorted. Redial function works "sometimes". Pre-programmed numbers work "sometimes". I bought AT&T 'cause I thought it was the best. What a mistake that was; of course they are all made in China, which is a bigger mistake. I bought this system at Sears about a week ago and it will be boxed up and returned TOMORROW.
My advice: do your homework before purchasing a phone system just like I'm going to do now.

2.0 out of 5 stars Look for something better, September 12, 2003

I purchased the AT&T 2325 after having another AT&T cordless machine for years. This model disappointed. Sound quality was poor. The machine doesn't value your time when reviewing messages. It takes too much time to maneuver. Requires that you listen to time stamp with each play. The buttons are not sensitive enough. Takes too many tries to recognize remote access code. Will be returning for another machine.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing, June 23, 2003

If you're looking for more than the basics, go elsewhere. Even then, think again! The seemingly simple task of dialing an outgoing call is complicated and risky -- oftentimes it takes 5 or 6 tries to dial a number and "get a line". Speaker in handset is a plus, but that's about all this phone has going for it!

I purchased this phone because of the multiple mailboxes and expandable handset. I was underwhelmed . The quality of the digital voicemail recording is very poor and garbled - definitely not something you want representing you if you are a small or home-based business. And you cannot record individual messages for the mailboxes - only one main message directing people to choose 1,2 or 3.

I would say my expectations were probably too high. For a basic answering machine for personal use, it's okay. But I have returned it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works well with Vonage to give great around the home coverage, April 17, 2006
This review is from: AT&T 2325 2.4 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID (Office Product)
Had this sytem over 6 months. If you take the time to read the hand book and program it correctly it works just fine. Two thumbs-up. The AT&T cordless phone system and add-on model 2300 hand sets work seemlessly with our VoI Vonage phone system. With one handset in the Basement, Kitchen, Living Room and Bedroom. We love that if someone upstairs answers and the call is for someone in the basement, you can page them, tell them who's calling and then transfer the call over to them. No more screaming up or down the stairs " Hey pick-up the call if for you"

1.0 out of 5 stars Great Specs..Works terrible and not even a year is up!, October 9, 2005

This review is from: AT&T 2325 2.4 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID (Office Product)
This AT&T system worked great at first and after about 7 months of use, we can hardly dial out. We got this system as a gift for Christmas, and only a 10 months later, we can hardly use the phones. We thought AT&T would be good because of the name and the specs were great. What a mistake that was. Dialing out is a nightmare. My husband called 911 twice because the keys get stuck and dials doubles. Some of the numbers don't even work. It takes 4-5 tries to dial a number and get a line. What happens if you have an emergency? The key pads must be dirty. I tried opening up the phone through the battery compartment, but there is no way to get to the keypad. The redial function is also awkward to work. Speaker in handset is a plus, but when you try to go back to the regular headset on the same call, you can easily hang up on the other person! We use three out of the four headsets that came with the phone, all of them are going bad. We took the fourth phone out to switch it with one of the bad ones and it works wonderfully..in a couple of months, it will do the same as the others...go bad! Don't buy this phone.
