5.0 out of 5 stars No more poor cellphone reception at home!, December 6, 2007
By
This review is from: AT&T EP562 5.8GHz DSS Handset for Expandable System EP5632 with Caller ID (Black/Silver) (Office Product)
First- this is the expansion hand set- you need the other part for this to work.
If you have ONE spot in your house you can only use your cell phone, this is for you.

It's a great device. Your cell phone rings.... you have the home phone in your hand, and a little light flashes that says "cellular". You push the button and you are now connected to your cell phone VIA your home phone handset.

Not hard to set up, but you need bluetooth.

One complaint, the caller id isn't ever right when someone calls my cell. I just ignore it.

Now I can use my cell phone ALL over my house and get crystal clear reception. Just put the phone where you get reception- turn on the bluetooth, Viola!

Your cell must be within 3 feet of the base station for it to work.

I love it. It's a great phone for people who can't talk on their cell phones at home because of poor reception!

3.0 out of 5 stars A solid product, but a few minor frustrations, November 22, 2008
This review is from: AT&T EP562 5.8GHz DSS Handset for Expandable System EP5632 with Caller ID (Black/Silver) (Office Product)
This phone system is a solid system expandable up to 12 handsets. The bluetooth functionality of the base station is a little quirky, and occasionally, I have to unplug the base to reset it to allow my cell phones to reconnect to the home system, but by and large, this has been a very good system for our home. The expandable bases are very easy to connect, and the handsets hold their charge for a long time. One problem I have found is that the phone book feature and custom rings do not transfer from phone to phone; you must input them individually on each phone. This is extremely frustrating when you have 12 handsets, especially if you use custom ring tones to identify callers. Other than that, this phone has been very good. No interference from my electronics has been noted, and I have a lot (and I do mean lots) of electronics in my home.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice phones, April 23, 2008

This review is from: AT&T EP562 5.8GHz DSS Handset for Expandable System EP5632 with Caller ID (Black/Silver) (Office Product)
Great product:
Pros:
1. Bluetooth works with blackberry Curve and blackjack. Get incoming calls and make outgoing calls on cell phones by hitting the cell phone button.
2. Separate ringer for bluetooth cell phone lets you know where the call is coming too.
3. Assign separate ringers from list of 15+ to all you're frequent callers

Cons:
1. Have to program each phone individually. Why can't they just clone from base, or auto transfer phonebooks
2. Battery life is short. A day and a half off base and the phones dead.
3. bluetooth was tricky for a while. I had to reset it a time or two. But now it's pretty reliable.
