I needed a shock mount for a sensitive microphone. This one is sturdy and works very well. I use for bird recordings and have found it to be rugged enough for field work.

I got one of these mounts when I bought a used boom pole. I don't know why anyone would buy this mount when for a bit more you can get the Rycote one. Like there other guy said, you have to criss cross the bands to hold the mic. I just don't trust it. It seems to pick up a lot of handling noise as well compared to the other mounts I have used.

The spacing on the rubber bands is a touch wide.,

This came in yesterday and I use an AT8035. I didn't have a shock mount so you constantly heard me handling the boom pole. I looked up the recommended shock mount on AT's website and this was one of two, the other would probably hold better but a few reviews said that noise came through...
So I just cris cross the rubber band on each side and it holds really well. The mic wanted to slip down when I didn't do this. Still highly recommended. it seems to be built very well.
