Nice Home Office Phone, November 3, 2003
This review is from: AT&T 952 2-Line Speakerphone (Espresso) (Office Product)
This phone is working very well as my home office phone, and it is getting a lot of use. After trying a really cheap phone and being unhappy with it, I spent a little more for this and have been very pleased.
- It has more space than I'll ever need for programmable numbers (32) (though the sequence needed to record a new number is not particularly intuitive/memorable).
- It saves programmed numbers when the power goes off. (It saved all my numbers for several days during a move.)
- It has an Auto Redial button, also a nice timesaver.
- The Mute button works well.
- It has Speaker, Handset & Headset options, which you can switch between at any time.
- It allows you to adjust the volume of what you are listening to (with enough range to work well for me).
- Handset has a nice heft, fits the ear reasonably well, and decent sound.
- Keyboard feels reasonably nice and has stood up to a year of use. .
- Speakerphone has good pickup from two feet away.
I have found only a few disadvantages. The phone beeps when you switch modes (to speaker, for example) and when you adjust the volume. You need learn to use mute *beforehand* if you don't want to create a distraction during a conference call. Also, I have tried a couple of different headsets with this phone, and consistently hear that my volume is too low when I have set it as high as possible, which makes me wonder if there is a phone issue with that.
I don't use two lines, but it also has the capacity for two lines, with hold and conference buttons.

I was a bit doubtful when I was pondering the purchase of a corded telephone, but this telephone is wonderful... it's got 32 Programable Speed dial slots, 2 lines, Speakerphone, Conference function, and many, many more wonderful features! You'll love it!

Worthless phone!, August 25, 2003
This review is from: AT&T 952 2-Line Speakerphone (Espresso) (Office Product)
Decent looking phone however the ringers are so whisper quiet---even on the HI setting---that you cannot hear the phone ring! I first bought this phone at Best Buy, returned it for this reason. A week later I found it a little cheaper at Staples so I thought I'd give it another shot in case the first one was defective. No dice---same inaudible rings. Definitely avoid this phone!
