I just had one tip about this phone. If you only have a one line service, this phone's L2 LED will never turn off. It interprets the lack of line as an off hook condition. Of course this wears down the battery and is distracting to see.

There is a way to work around this, only install two batteries instead of all four. The pair near the back of the phone power the LEDs for line 1 and the two near the front handle line 2. I was surprised this worked but with just the L1 pair of batteries all the features of the phone are ok. You only lose the Line 2 off the hook indicator which a single line service user doesn't use anyway. My guess is that the L1 batteries do double service and power the speed dial numbers as well. NOTE there is no mention of this in either the quick start guide or the manual.

This phone is just what I was looking for, a corded 2-line phone that does not require an AC plug. Being in the South, we have relatively frequent power outages due to weather, and I needed a phone I can rely on when disaster happens. Voice clarity is great. It is easy to use, and the handset is comfortable. The 24 number speed dial memory is more than I need. The only drawback,a minor inconvenience, is that it does not automatically select the line that is calling in when you pick up the handset to answer a call. However, the line button lights up clearly, so it is easy to see in the dark. Overall, a very good purchase!

We liked the cheaper price and had read that this was supposed to have better quality than the old 2-line, 3way conference with caller id from AT&T. In fact the speaker-phone on this new one sounds like you are speaking from a cavern. Not impossible, but the old version is better.

I was looking for a basic phone, and purchased this item. I set it up, plugged in the handset and phone connection. Halfway through the first call, the handset went away. I pushed on the attachment, but it would not reconnect. This has happened on several calls now, so that phone will be relegated for use only when the power goes out. Wasted $20, and a disappointment.

The box says no ac power needed, which is great. But then when I got it opened up turns out you need 4 batteries to make the darn thing stop beeping all the time. What's more, the phone draws all the power it needs for the speakerphone and auto redial function right from the wall jack so batteries are just a waste. Also, when I speak into the microphone it sounds a bit muffled. Otherwise a great phone.

Prompt delivery, good price, easy to set up and use. Most important, the features meet our needs and the voice quality is quite good. For someone who does not need or want Caller ID, this is an excellent choice, and is smaller and simpler to set up and use than the more expensive model with Caller ID.

This is the SECOND one of these models I ordered and installed. I don't know what the problem is, but it worked fine for about 2 hours. Went to bed. Next morning - could not dial out. The dial tone was there, but it was pretty much shot.
Strange that two would go out. The supplier was more than cooperative on refunding cost + shipping.
My phone service appears to be working well otherwise.

I love this phone. I work at home for a call center and it's everything I need. IT has a 2.5 headset jack. The numbers are nice and easy to see with two line option. The speed dial area is very easy to use. Everything you need to adjust or use with this is phone is so easy to do so. IT rings loudly and the red line beside the line flashes when a call is coming through on that line. I would recommend this product to EVERYONE!!! Its a great deal and I got it just in time... I needed a low cost, 2 line phone. The price was good but overall I am not that happy with the purchase due to simple quality problems - the spring doesn't release the button when I lift the handset... I end up banging the base unit to release the button so I can answer or initiate a call. I suppose I could pry open the base unit and replace with a springier spring but this just seems like a poor design and/or quality control.

Plugged it in and it worked fine right out of the box. Especially like the loud bell which helps me since I am partially deaf.
