AT&T Car Charger with USB Port for Apple iPad

Sold as a charger for the iPad, it is for the iPhone and iPhone 3G as it is labeled. The iPad doesn't even register that it is plugged in. Besides that, it is clearly used, as the plastic is scrapped up on both ends. Now I get to see how much of a hassle it is to get my money back.

UPDATE: DBROTH has said they will issue a full refund. No hassle at all! I ordered the Griffin Technology PowerJolt 2 amp Power Charger for iPad, iPhone and iPod (Black) instead, it is made specifically for the iPad, and has good reviews saying that it does indeed work. Thanks DBROTH

Not I'm sure what the other guy is talking about maybe there's been a firmware update to the iPad or something because we've had the charger for 6 months and works great. Has a USB port for charging also. Not all car chargers have enough power output to charge an iPad but this one does even when using the iPad.

This product did not work the way it is suppose to work. I had to position my iPad a specific way in order for the charge to grab. In a car it's almost impossible for anything to stay in the same exact position while driving. Maybe I receive a defective one but at the end I didn't pay much for it and didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it. I purchased one a little after for about 3 or 4 dollars with no brand name on it, all white and its working perfectly fine. This review will probably not be that helpful but I'm just posting my experience with the product. Read more reviews and if you see similar posting, then it's the product but if you don't then it was just the one that I received.

Purchased this for my iPad in the car. Did not work,It did not register on the charge indicator on iPad. Company exchanged it for me and the second one same thing. Had to purchase different charger.

Works fine in both of my cars, Accord and Silverado, to charge both my iPhone 3gs and my husbands iphone 4. Also works to charge my ipad as well as my daughters iPod touch. I was skeptical it would work for all 4 but it did so I am very happy. I actually went back and bought a second so that we have one in both vehicles.

I ordered these units, knowing full well with a $20+ retail price, that $8 units likely had some history behind them, either repaired, refurbished, or counterfit. I ordered a pair anyway, and the first units showed up non functional, one didn't even light up, and neither was able to make 3 different iPod/iPod Touch/iPad respond to them in any way. Typically if you plug into a non-supported charger, you'll get a "not supported" message, or "not charging", I got nothing, I suspect no power at all was getting to the device.

After contacting the vendor through Amazon, a few emails traded regarding exactly what was wrong (it seemed they were making sure that it wasn't a user error, fair enough) and two replacements were sent. I requested that they check the units before sending them, make sure they actually worked. I recieved two working units.

One note on these chargers. First, both of the replacement units I got did charge the iPad, indicating a higher current capacity than most USB chargers. Second, the "bonus" USB port will NOT charge the iPad, but did charge my iPod Touch and iPod Classic. I have other cell phone chargers from AT&T which will not charge the iPod touch from that same port, these seem to be different. It appears that even the extra load on the charger, the iPad continued to charge, though I can't say how quickly, it seemed to work fine.

Over all, I am pretty happy, two iPad chargers with USB ports for charging extra devices for less than the price of one at AT&T. Hopefully they last, but at the price, I won't be crushed if they don't last forever.

Although I received this product and it had ipone and ipad on the packaging it works. I thought that they had sent me the wrong product. I have been using it and it works wonderfully. This is a good priced product that works!

What I actually thought I ordered was a car charger for an I-Phone, not an I-Pad.
I think I got what I ordered. (Maybe it works for both?).
Anyway, I recieved it.
