Noisy line and very fine print,
By
This review is from: AT&T E2727B - 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
I purchased one of these as a Christmas gift and it was a lemon. The unit was defective and kept inserting noise into the line. AT&T tech support went through the same easy steps as the manual, then told me to return it.
Also, the intent was to have two handsets that could be used simultaneously, but this unit DOES NOT do that. You can only use one at a time, a fact that is only made clear in the very fine print in the users manual. The box (and the product description on Amazon.com) seem to imply that both handsets can be used at once. You can only transfer calls from one to the other. This may work for you, but my gift recipient wanted to have two people on the line at the same time.

fireeck,

Lots of features but handset voice pickup creates an echo. Any ambient room sound is picked up by the mike making conversations difficult. Would not recommend this phone.

Good telephone,

We have been happy with this telephone set. We like the directory feature, which allows you to store numbers and recall them quickly. The transfer between handsets works well. One criticism would be that the recorded message on the answering machine sounds hollow.

AT & T cordless review,

This review is from: AT&T E2727B - 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
After reading glowing reviews in Consumer Reports I thought I'd love this phone. It works fine, but lacks features in my prior AT & T phone, such as deleting your in-box with one button, instead of one at a time; the outgoing pulse signal is tedious and slow and the ring tones ALL suck. For the price it does what it needs to, so I'll not quibble.

Not exactly a bargain,
This review is from: AT&T E2727B - 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
The style of the answering machine and additional units are nice and they don't take up a lot of room. The buttons do not feel cheap like many other brands either. Two issues though. If you pre-dial a number or use the speed dial option, when you hit the phone(connect)button you are lucky if the call goes through. This is probably because it only gives short tone burst that are not long enough to be recognized. The second issue is that there is no battery backup if power goes out. You lose your messages and configurations on the main base.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: AT&T E2727B - 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
My favorite feature of this phone has to be the speaker phone. I know there are others out there but this is my first. The menus seem pretty intuitive and I'm glad the buttons light up (another must have feature for a cordless). The answering machine could be better... it does not have the best sound quality. With all this phone's bells and whistles I have not had an issue with battery life yet. One minor downside is that the body is made of a cheap plastic that I've already managed to scuff up a bit, but other than that it's a great cordless... especially for the money!

It's only okay,
This review is from: AT&T E2727B - 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
For the price of this phone, it works okay. The answering machine is easy to use, and the buttons on the machine and the phone are big and easy to push. But there is an echo in the phone so any background noise makes it hard to hear the person you're talking to. I also found a lot of static, when my last phone had no static at all (which was also a 2.4gh AT&T, just different model)
I would not recommend this phone..

I have not utilized all the features for my phone but it is a good fit for me so far. The reception is good for a cordless phone and it seems to do fine at a distance. I had a reception problem with the phone I replaced with this one. I like that the buttons are prominent and easy to read. I especially like the speakerphone feature. It is very clear and is helpful at times. This phone is a good buy.

Bitter-Sweet Experience and Reliability Problems,
This review is from: AT&T E2727B - 2.4 GHz Dual Handset Answering System with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
This is a great phone for the price with neat features such as speakerphone, nice buttons, nice button layout, answering machine (w/ remote access) and other features. But, the phone I have has reliability problems. Just 10 minutes ago, after a conversation, after I pressed OFF on the keypad, the phone wouldn't hang up. It wouldn't communicate w/ the base unit and it beeped 5 times in a row repeatedly. This phone has problems about 10% of the time either dialing, or communicating w/ the base unit and it is brand new. A ten-percent intermittent problem is a definite annoyance but who has the time to box everything up accurately according to AT&T specific procedures and return the phone system? Then I'm w/o a phone for 2 to 3 months probably? Why don't they acknowledge there's most likely a design problem with an intolerant design specification or timing issue somewhere inside the unit? AT&T should send out a replacement phone BEFORE I send this one in. If I ever find a REAL AT&T "support number" I'll explain my suspicion about a design problem to them. There's my two-cents worth. Have a nice day.

Purchased for another family member. They are pleased with the phone and especially having two handsets.
