4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone for the price
I purchased this phone to replace a similar, but much older model. I purchased the base, and 3 extra handsets. I received the merchandise well packaged, and very quickly. The product description is accurate, and I would agree with another review that mentioned the buttons make it difficult to not disconnect a call when pressed against the cheek while talking. It's not a...

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst handset ever invented!!
I am a usability engineer for websites. This has got to be the worst design I have ever seen in a phone. If you tilt your head the wrong way, it hangs up on the person you are talking to. The design of it is so terrible because of the location of the off button and also how touchy the button itself is. I definitely would not recommend this phone to anyone. It will...

This review is from: AT&T E597-1 - 5.8 GHz Cordless Expansion Handset with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
It's not a huge problem, but something to think about. I purchased an inexpensive headset to resolve this problem, which means if I'm washing dishes or using my hands for something else while I'm on the phone I do not have the problem with accidentally hanging up. The handsets synchronized easily, and the reception and volume are great. All in all this is an excellent product for the price.

Needed another handset for my office and this was the best price around. Save a lot of money and it was really easy to install. The speaker function works really well and the sound is very clear.

It will embarass you during phone conversations because you will have to call people back because you will constantly be hanging up on them.

I am very pleased with this product, however, the only negative I would say about it is that you can be checking your messages on the answering machine and if someone calls in, it stops you from hearing you messages. Other than this, I really like the phones.

The handset was DOA, due to a defective battery. A phone call to the supplier led to them sending a new battery within a few days, at no charge of course. The handset is excellent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Review, May 12, 2007
This review is from: AT&T E597-1 - 5.8 GHz Cordless Expansion Handset with Caller ID & Call Waiting (Office Product)
Good product, but because of placement of on/off button you can accidentally hang up during your call when handset is cradled between ear and shoulder and you are using your hands for some other task...

We lost one of our telephones and needed a replacement. So happy that one was available. It works wonderfully and was just like the others we have.
