Equipped with a cordless handset, a base unit, and support for caller ID/call waiting services, the 2355 is stylish, easy to use, and affordable. And thanks to an expandable design that's compatible with up to three additional cordless handsets (sold separately), users can enjoy phone access all over the house through a single phone line. One phone jack and one power outlet is all you need to connect the compact charging cradle, though additional cradles may come in handy. Even better, the reception on each handset is clear and static-free thanks to the 2.4 GHz frequency, which offers more clarity and a greater range than 900 MHz phones. As a further benefit, the cordless handsets can act as intercoms, letting users contact one another from across the house, or as speakerphones in tandem with the base unit. It's an ideal system for people who live in busy households, or who want to keep phones in traditionally cable-free rooms, such as garages or attics.

In addition, the cordless handset includes a three-line LCD display that provides caller ID and call waiting data (subscription required), including storage space for 50 names and numbers. Users will also appreciate the display-and-dial function, which lets you scroll through the phone's directory and quickly dial the selected number, along with the time/date stamp that lets you know exactly when you received an incoming call.

Additional features include a page system that lets you locate the handsets when they're misplaced; a handy two-way intercom feature; four selectable ring tones; call conferencing; an adjustable volume control; and a headset jack on the handset. The handset/cordless part seems to work just fine, however, the speakerphone on the base is terrible. Any time I use it people complain they can't hear me (even w/ the volume up) or the sound comes in and out. So I have to pick up the receiver every time. I'm bummed b/c it's the main reason I bought this phone. But if you don't care about the speaker feature you'll be in good shape.

We have had this system for 3 years and am now shopping for a new system...one phone the number pads don't work, on another phone the menu buttons don't work.
