Don't waste your money on a bulky Uniden headset for twice the price. This is an excellent headset. I have read that some have had some interference problems with some headsets on DSS phones, mine that came with my Lucent Tech 900 Mhz analog works GREAT on my Uniden 9960 900 Mhz DSS.

3.0 out of 5 stars Comfortable, but the wire can get damaged pretty fast...
This headset is indeed quite comfortable. The sound quality is also excellent. But my only problem is that after a while the wire gets messed up from the inside and you get break up during a conversation. But since I got it really cheap using a coupon from UnderTag.com, I can't really complain.

The microphone is adjustable, but it almost doesn't need to be, it picks up your voice that well. It doesn't end up in front of your face, either, more like at the side of your cheek. It weighs nothing, and doesn't clamp onto your head, just lightly clips to your ear.

I'm buying another one, right now....(click).

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good Product, August 14, 2000
By
This review is from: AT&T 90800 Mini Headset (Office Product)
I couldn't believe that a headset that cost so little could be so good, comfortable, and convenient. I bought two, fully prepared to send them back because I was convinced that you couldn't get a good headset for $9.99. Color me wrong! I can wear it for a full working day out of my home office and not even be aware it's there. When attached to a cordless phone that hooks on your belt, you have total mobility. The earpiece is light and easily slipped over your ear; once it's on, you're not even aware it's there. The microphone wand looked too short, but it works so well that people tell me that the sound is very clear and they can't tell I'm on a headset. Unlike a speaker phone, it even does a great job of screening out background noise too (like the roofing contractor who was banging over my head and the housekeeper who was running the vacuum cleaner!). My only disappointment is that it doesn't fit on my Nokia 6062 phone, because I wish I could use it on my cell phone in the car. It's far better than any in-the-ear or over-the-head unit in terms of comfort and staying put. It's unusual to find a product at this price that is so good. You can't lose.

5.0 out of 5 stars The next best thing to world peace, February 22, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: AT&T 90800 Mini Headset (Office Product)
This headset is the best 10 bucks I've ever spent. The sound quality is perfect (by phone standards) and the set is so comfortable I can't tell that I'm wearing it. The clip-over-the-ear style had me worried about comfort, but now I think it is superior to any overhead style. The mike placement is great, it picks up my voice clearly yet is off to the side enough that I can eat and drink without even realizing that the headset is on. It almost seems like telepathy, talking to and hearing someone distant so clearly, with no handset in your hand and no sensation of wearing a headset!

We got 2 of these; my wife has arthritis and holding the phone hurts her wrist. Now she can water the garden while she yaps away. I like to work on my cars while I'm on the phone. You do have to attach the clip on the wire to your lapel to keep the wire from tapping the mike. I usually nitpick and complain about something about every purchase, but none here.

If this is your first headset or you don't plan to have heavyuse, this is as good as it gets. ...the sound quality is goodand it is relatively comfortable. However, if you are going to spend time with this, the Plantronics M175 by far worth the additional expense. Much more invisible from the stand point of the user (you completely forget its on your head) and the listener on the other end. I have them both and switch to the Plantronics unit when I know it is going to be a long call or I going to be moving about.

5.0 out of 5 stars I like it so much, I bought 2!, July 18, 2000
This review is from: AT&T 90800 Mini Headset (Office Product)
I bought one for my home phone (a Panasonic 2.4 GHz) & it works great. I even use the headseat more than I thought I would. (It seemed like such a gimmick at the time...but a cool gimmick.) I just bought a new mobile phone (an LG330) & this headset works well with that too (with the addition of one cheap adapter that I had to buy from GTE). I wanted one for my house & one to keep in my car. For 10 bucks, you can't beat it. In fact, GTE (temporarily) sold me a headset for $60 (before I realized that the one I had would work). Their's was a piece of JUNK! It was flimsy; wouldn't stay on my ear; had a tiny speaker that only sounded well when it was shoved into my ear (which is very uncomfortable); and a thin wire as a microphone which was hard to control since the position on my ear was always changing as it slid around. Besides, I did sound tests to compare the 2: the AT&T sounded better on my end and the people I spoke with could hear me better with the AT&T. No contest. I just ordered my 2nd AT&T 90800.

I was very hesitant about this headset as it was only 10 bucks but I have had great luck with it. I can hear well and the people I am talking to say I come across very clearly as well. I think it is a good deal and a good product. I love being productive and being able to talk on the phone at the same time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent price, ok quality., October 1, 1999

I got this phone for a great price (about 11 bucks after a gift certificate). So I'm not complaining about that, but the microphone extension is a bit too short, and the earbud part is hard to put on my ear, but other than that it's a great product.

I really like this headset, it's comfortable, and the mic gain is very good. People I talk to say they couldn't tell I was on a headset. I really like the over the ear type of wearing. I think it's more comfortable than an over-the-head type.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for this Price, May 2, 2000
This review is from: AT&T 90800 Mini Headset (Office Product)
Reading the ads and other persons' reveiws, I expected it to be smaller and lighter. It is actually a little bit too big for my ear (since I am a small person), it fell down sometimes (I have to avoid sudden movement). I think it would be ok for an average (size) person. However, the design is nice. I wish it will come in white color so it will match my AT&T phone.

It can be used with many device with 2.5 mm. plug such as cellular phone, computer, also works on my Motorola Fr50 two-way radio.

Sound is clear and loud, it's a little amplifier, I have to dial the phone before putting it on because the dial tones of the phone through this head set is so loud, it hurts my ear. It hurts even more after a long time talking because of its weight hanging on my ear. The material (plastic) is quite hard and sturdy.

In conclusion, it works, it's inexpensive, multiple devices compatible. However person who look for a very comfortable head set may not like this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Caveat to Nokia Users, October 28, 2000
By
Jim Schroeder (Parma, OH United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: AT&T 90800 Mini Headset (Office Product)
I'm very pleased with this mini headset for the price. Although the construction is somewhat flimsy, it is lightweight and does not make your ear lobe ache after wearing it for a lengthy time. It has certainly increased the safety of my driving when talking on a cell phone. The quality of the earphone reception and microphone transmission is as good or better than the cell phone itself.

My one disappointment is that the 2.5 mm plug provided will not fit Nokia 5100/6100 Series phones. An adapter is available through Plantonics (Model WTA-NK610) to link this headset with the cell phone. ... So instead of purchasing two headsets for under ..., it ended up costing me over ... for the two by the time the adapters were found and purchased. If you own a Nokia cell phone, it may be cheaper overall to purchase a more expensive headset with a plug that already fits the phone.
