I bought this headset to replace a corded one that plugged into my cordless phone. I kept having to replace the corded one because the cord would snag on things when I moved around, and the cord would eventually die. The corded ones were costing me about $25 each. This headset was a lot more expensive, but it is so much better in every way. All of the corded headsets I used had volume problems- 2 just weren't loud enough, and the one that was was just barely so. This headset has a volume control on it, and it is loud enough for me when set about medium. The headset is not cumbersome- no cord to catch on things or come unplugged. I use the headband style attachment, and find it very comfortable. There are several earpieces included and I think that most people would find an option to suit them. I have an older house which is quite solidly constructed. It's hard to hear someone calling out from the other end of the house, even though it's just a 1400 sq ft ranch house. I wondered if reception would be a problem if I got too far from the base, but I have had no problems with that, inside or outside the house. No interference when passing by computers, our Tivo, or the microwave, either. I think this headset will last a long time, and for me it was well worth the higher price. I wondered if I was going to want the lifter or keypad accessories, but have found the headset works fine as is. I wouldn't buy it as a replacement for a second phone, though, as it obviously lacks any way to check caller ID or dial out. I dial on a cordless handset, then put on the headset and turn it on. You can actually turn the handset off, then, I think, but then you won't have caller ID or any way to "flash" to a 2nd call if one comes in, so I leave the handset on. I do have to be careful to remember to turn the handset off when I hang up. I wondered if I had to have AT&T phones to use this headset, but this headset works fine with my Panasonic phones.

I have a dual line ATT desk phone that I use for working in my home office. I tried all sorts of inexpensive wired headsets and ALL of them had issues with sound quality or volume (either speaking or listening). I finally decided to quit messing around with cheap stuff and bought this. What a great choice! The range is excellent (I can walk outside and down the drive), plus I can adjust both the transmission volume and the listening volume to get the best results. I HIGHLY recommend getting the kit that includes the handset lifter for the phone. That way you can answer the phone while you are not sitting in front of it. You simply press the button on the side of the headset and the lifter picks up the headset..and voila..you're connected. I HIGHLY recommend this unit. Great sound quality. Great battery life. Easy to install. Great range.

The sound quality and flexibility of this product is great. It provides adjustments for listening volume, microphone volume and settings for different answering styles. It was also easy to connect to a multi-line phone with a 2.5mm headset jack using a handset-to-headset jack adapter.

This is a headset only phone, which for me, replaces a "normal" household telephone. I was using the Plantronics cs55h but it became prone to severe static so when I found this phone (ATT clearly copied the cs55h, but I'm not complaining) I was thrilled with the sound quality. The problem is that no one at AT&T uses one, you can tell, because there is no head in the world that would find their ridiculous head bands comfortable. The problem is that the actual phone is rather heavy and extended use can really hurt. On just normal wear, I've broken 4, yes for of the "across the top of the head" one (my preferred piece). It's just a thoughtless, poorly designed piece of shiz. Calling support to get another does gets you one, but they remind you, JUST ONE. The other thing is that they make a dial pad to go with it because what's the point of it being wireless if you can't call someone from where you are. But you have to pay extra for that. So for sound clarity it's fabulous - for comfort, you will have to prepare a second option, At&T clearly did little product testing. I've liked the sound enough to buy three of them (because the plastic just falls apart at the seams) -- I will wait for a remarkable new one from Plantronics and switch back (they clearly understand comfortable head gear). AT&T made their head set unique enough that you can't really find a replacement for alternate wear. I've got cotton pads taped to my band to help not hurt and duct tape on the actual phone where the seams are...Looks like crap but the sound....

I've recently started working from home more frequently in a job which keeps me on the phone a minimum of 5 hours per day. I have a cordless phone with a speaker, but it is somewhat less convenient when you want to get up and move around. I was considering a plantronics headset when I came across this one. As it was $50 less than the plantronics, I decided to give it a try.
I've had the phone for about a week now and it is living up to my hopes. I'm not sure how it pairs to the wireless handset as it is connected to the phone jack separately and it worked immediately. I'm using a Panasonic wireless headset and it works perfectly. I see no need for the handset lifter as calls can be answered by a simple push of the button. For dialing out, you do need to use the other phone, but since the phone itself is wireless and not much bigger than the optional keypad, I see very little advantage to purchasing the keypad. It does come with 3 different mounts, one over the ear, one over the head and one behind the neck. It does have a volume adjustment for the headset along with a mute button. About the only thing negative I could say is there is a mild beep every 15 seconds when muted. Thus far I have not found a way to turn it off. As I am on conference calls most of the day I'm frequently muted. It would be nice to be able to turn of the beep(there is also an indicator on the charging stand), but it's not big issue.

Just purchased the AT&T TL7610 DECT 6.0 for use at my office. We use a non-AT&T multi-line phone. I was already using a corded headset but got tired of wrangling the cord. This unit was hooked up and operating within 5 minutes. I tried the over-the-ear piece but switched to the behind-the-head piece which is considerably more comfortable. The unit has incredible range - I can walk out of my office and down the hall without disconnecting and with no diminished sound quality. The only drawback I've discovered so far is that I can no longer talk through my phone's handset. However, it's possible that I just haven't discovered the appropriate setting to allow this. No other problems.

I'll give the TL7610 strong marks for ease of set-up. Sound quality is also good on my end, but someone complained of an echo on their end. I appreciate a lot of the features of this headset but it has a couple of real zingers.
PROS: * Easy to set up * Easy to pick up the call originating from a cordless (AT&T) handset * Crystal clear sound on my end * Strong signal (good range and no static) * Light on base showing you when the headset is on mute * Ability to end or pick up a call from the headset CONS: * When on mute, you get a beep every 15 seconds. That's 240 little "beep!"s during a one hour telephone call. Annoying? You decide. * Overrides mute (lack of communication?) with AT&T CL81209 handset. Clearly the CL81209 and its brethren were designed to promote the TL7610. Why? Because for all the phone's features, there's no place to plug a wired headset into the cordless phone. Fine. If this is the case however, they should TALK to one another. When I am using the handset and the headset together, I should be able to use the handset mute instead of the headset mute (eliminating that bothersome little BEEP!). But you can't. The headset does not recognize that the handset is on mute. Consider yourself duly warned.

4 1/2 STARS - Clear Handsfree Everywhere in the House,
By RemDog "RemDog" (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews
This review is from: AT&T TL7610 DECT 6.0 Cordless Headset, Silver/Black, 1 Cordless Headset (Office Product)
This is by far the best handsfree headset I have purchased. I have an AT&T bluetooth enabled phone but was confined to the room where the base station was located to be handsfree. It was good for a while but if I wanted to carry the conversation to other areas of the house I had to switch off the headset. The ATT 7610 comes in loud and clear everywhere in my home. I don't have it paired with a DECT 6.0 phone. The 7610 shares the phone line with any phone corded or cordless, in my case it's cordless. I simply use the handset to dial the number and switch the headset on once the line connects and then turn the handset off. If you are on the headset and a call comes in, you cannot see the caller ID, obviously. I thought you might be able to see it on the handset that shares the line but that is not the case. I'm thinking if I pair this with a DECT 6.0 phone, the caller ID might come through on the handset but it will be a while before I can try that. The 7610 also comes with 3 headset options; over the ear hook, over the head band and behind the neck band. The latter two are quite comfortable although I prefer the ear hook. The hard rubber insert that goes in your ear is a little uncomfortable at first but was quick to get used to. ATT should make some other in the ear options, e.g. soft foam, soft rubber, etc. That was the only nit that I found and the reason I deducted 1/2 star. The on/off button is easy to find as are the Volume and Mute/Flash buttons without having to take the headset off. When you're on mute, you hear a very faint beep every 15 or 30 seconds. Some reviewers complained about that but I don't find it annoying at all and it's a good reminder that you are on mute. I where the over the ear hook for hours a day and hardly notice it. It looks big compared to my bluetooth headset, but it is quite light. I have several lengthy conference calls during the day without charging the headset in between. I've not had a low battery indication yet. I'm very happy with that. Installation was very simple and the instructions were clear. I compared this to the 7600 which was less expensive. They are basically the same except the 7600 has to be paired with a compatible DECT 6.0 phone. I didn't want to be down if the phone died and the 7610 offers more flexibility in this regard. I would highly recommend the ATT 7610 to anyone who spends the majority of their day on the phone, needs to be handsfree and the ability to roam beyond the reach of Bluetooth.

The sound is very clear. Range is surprisingly good. It took a couple of tries for the headset to "find" the base station, but since then it's been perfect. This was the least expensive wireless set I looked at and I'm entirely satisfied.

I have wrist issues so I wasn't able to hold a portable phone for long periods of time. I've had one other headphone and it was horrid, I was afraid to try another. However, after reading all the reviews I decided to fork over the money and give this one a try. Am I ever glad I did. It's fairly comfortable, easy to use, and the range is fantastic! I was able to go to the end of the driveway to get the mail, all the while talking with a friend... the reception was perfect! I've yet to experience any interference and no one has said one word about my being on a headset. The last one I had nearly everyone thought I was on a speakerphone, cell phone, or some other phone because of the poor reception. This one is fantastic, expensive but definitely worth it!
