4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Pitching Trainer For The Price, September 28, 2008

The ATEC Pro Pitcher's Practice Screen by Wilson is a very good product. I would recommend it to other parents and coaches for both boy's baseball and girl's softball. It is well made with heavy duty framework and catch screen. It is easy and quick to set and take down. It would be nice if it were to come with some sort of case. The screen attaches to the frame by eyelets that go into two hooks in the upper corners. The middle is secured by two ball-bungiee's that go through two eyelets and around the middle of the top frame. The only other draw-back besides not having a case is that the bottom corners should be secured also by bungiee's, if there is a breeze while practicing outside the screen will move back and forth. All in all a very good product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellant training aid., July 6, 2008
This review is from: ATEC Pro Pitcher's Practice Screen with Stand (Sports)
Heavy duty screen absorbs force of hard thrown balls allowing the pitcher to see exactly where the pitch landed. Also great for the times you can't locate a "live" catcher and you need some practice!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great backstop net, October 28, 2008

Very solid and durable, even as I repeatedly pitch into the frame(yes my command is horrible). I'm docking it a star because the one I ordered did not come with a pocket that collects all balls that hit the net, but just the strikes.

This is a solidly built, immensely fun training aid for any aspiring pitcher. The balls will stay in the built-in pocket if pitched into the target zone. The assembly is quick and easy, requiring no tools at all.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid product, August 8, 2009
This review is from: ATEC Pro Pitcher's Practice Screen with Stand (Sports)
We use this as a target for the pitcher in batting practice in a backyard cage. It is sturdy, and is easy to use. Unlike net socks, the balls can be easily removed from the pouch at the bottom of the target. During one summer in the N.E., I have not noticed any rust, and even machine pitched balls at 85 mph do not damage the screen. Best product of its kind that we have used.

I bought this for my sons ages 8 and 9. They absolutely love it. This target along with a bucket of practice baseballs entertains my sons for hours. AND their pitching has improved greatly. I would highly recommend this items for any young baseball or softball player. By the way, the quality of the frame and target is excellent. I am very happy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great pitching pad!, August 24, 2010

I was very pleased with this pitching pad and stand. It is well built, extremely simple to put together and easy to disassemble for transport to the practice field (no tools required). The pad is composed of 2 heavy duty layers that are of equal dimensions, with the outer edges of the 2 pads stitched together. The front layer has the strike zone cut out, and the back layer has the zone numbers 1 through 6 stitched on. The 2 pads therefore form sort of a pocket. So if a ball is thrown within the strike zone, it falls inside between the 2 pads and settles along the inside bottom of the pad pocket. A metal rod is inserted across the top of the pad for support, and another metal rod is inserted across the bottom for weight. The pad is attached to the sturdy metal frame with "S" hooks at the 2 top corners. 2 additional suspension straps are provide for the center top supports. The stand is extremely stable and does not move like those cheap ball-return pitching screens or foldable pitching nets. I deducted a star only because the description said the pad caught balls out of the strike zone. I believe there is a similar pitching pad made by the same company (ATEC) that catches balls that miss the strike zone (with an exterior pocket along the bottom, but this one (with the numbers 1-6 stitched in the strike zone) does not have the external pocket and therefore only catches strikes. Also there are no "S" hooks for the 2 bottom corners, but unless it is very windy, the metal bar across the bottom keeps the pad from swaying. There are holes in the bottom 2 corners for an "S" hook if you want to buy them to attach as I read others have done, but I did not find that necessary. Overall, this is an excellent pad!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pitchers Stand and Screen Combo, August 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
My son just loves it as it teaches him to target his pitches based on the 6 different zones provides. It has been very sturdy, except on windy days when you just need to anchor the legs with something heavy or u-clamps into the ground for added stability.

We are very pleased with this purchase.
