4.0 out of 5 stars Great video, noisy fan
I love the performance of this card, but the stock fan was way too noisy for me. I replaced it with a Zalman cooler that not only keeps it quieter but cooler as well.

3.0 out of 5 stars Almost works
I had a hard time installing the drivers. I'm using Win XP with a dual-core Athlon system. I finally "tricked" the system into installing the driver, using a work-around I found on the company web site. The card works beautifully in games and other rendering.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good card but dont be fooled, January 6, 2007
This review is from: AMD ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB PCI-E Graphics Card (100-437808)     (Personal Computers)
Great card for the money. Fast, graphics look amazing from a graphic editing stand point. but do not be fooled, this card does NOT support dual DVI. it has one DVI connector and one VGA. it does support DVI-Dual link which at its basic is a connector capable of accepting a DVI Dual Link cable which can support faster higher resolution to the digital monitor if the monitor warants it. I was fooled but still impressed. I use two Acer 22 inch wide screen monitors (exactly the same) and there is hardly a noticable difference between the one on the DVI output and the monitor running VGA.

5.0 out of 5 stars ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512mb PCI-E, January 27, 2007

Excellent product for the price. Needed to run windows at a high resolution, 2560 x 1600, for a Dell 30" LCD, and this card performs magic. Sharp colors, great gaming graphics, no shadows or edges visible. Even the smallest fonts are clear and readable.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good, April 25, 2007

My former system which is 3 years old have a system rating index of 2.1 with VISTA that I installed. That have gone up with the ATI video card to 4.3. thats the lowest I have on the scale and that is from the 3.2 gighertz HT. The Aero index is now at its highest possible at 5.9 and the gaming is now at 4.8 (up from 3.0). For the price my system has greatly increased in performance. Flight Simultor X is better (not terrific), Doom 3 is now running like a champ as well as other 3D games such as Need For SPeed underground 2. I have my plama connected for extended display, meaning two monitors can be used at the same time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Strongest in the $100 Range, April 6, 2007

While I still have to receive my 2nd card from Amazon to complete the Crossfire, I have to admit that this card is pretty impressive.

This is indeed the strongest and unbeatable card available in $100+ range here on Amazon, as well as Tigerdirect. It can only be beaten by the Sapphire Radeon 1950x Pro, which is only $189 and available on Newegg.

Installs like a charm: card is not too long, not too thick and not too heavy but it does require quiet some power in order to run in all of it's glory.

It is a little bit loud but if you are not the kind of person who sleeps in the same room while downloading things at night then the loudness will not be a problem.

Games like HL2, BF2 and Call of Duty run very impressively. Doom 3 and even 2003's Graphic-Hungry Jurassic Park Operation Genesis run on high settings without a problem.

I purchased this card not for gaming but mostly for working in 3D applications such as Bryce and Vue, as well as Photoshop and Cinema 4D. So far one of these cards is doing amazing job. When I receive my 2nd one the power will be even greater.

If you are tight on budget and want a great, stable gaming performance then this card is for you.

ATI Radeon x1650 Pro... You can't go wrong with that.

I had a hard time installing the drivers. I'm using Win XP with a dual-core Athlon system. I finally "tricked" the system into installing the driver, using a work-around I found on the company web site. The card works beautifully in games and other rendering.

Unfortunately, it also has serious problems. Any video in Quicktime is jerky. I have to reboot to get a movie to play smoothly, and then it's still a little problematic. I didn't have this problem with my previous, slower card with less memory.

Also, there is something wrong with the driver's digital rights management, and Media Player refuses to play any DVDs with it.

I think if the drivers had installed correctly, maybe I wouldn't be having problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Item Purchased, December 7, 2007
This review is from: AMD ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB PCI-E Graphics Card (100-437808)     (Personal Computers)
I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium on this machine that I recently upgraded my RAM with. (Now at 2GB) With this upgrade I went from a 3.8 to a 4.4 on the Rating option with Vista. My previous card as a X1300, it was good until I started getting into high graphic games like Quake 4, Halo 2, etc. I can run all my games at Ultra High on my monitor's native resolution (1440x900) and it runs like a dream.

The other reviewers said that it has a noisy stock fan - I disagree, mine's the quietest thing I've had. But yeah, it's worth the price - so if you want it GET IT!

Bought this to replace my x300 that came with Dell.

Couldn't ever get Aero working, despite trying to work with tech support.

I'm a little obsessive about noise, and as with any activly cooled card, this one was also noiser than I liked. This card was by FAR the loudest component in my Dell 9100, loud enough that I'm returning it even if I can get Vista aero working.
