5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the upgrade...
Nice vcard... has many features some you may never use some you will use quite often. Comes with decent video software also. This card is somewhat better in terms of features & power compared to the AIW 9600 PRO, and can still keep up with new DirectX 9.0b games like FarCry or Halo! Buy it if your in need of an upgrade... nice looking card and installation isn't too...

This card is somewhat better in terms of features & power compared to the AIW 9600 PRO, and can still keep up with new DirectX 9.0b games like FarCry or Halo! Buy it if your in need of an upgrade... nice looking card and installation isn't too difficult either. Be sure to delete all your old vcard drivers & associated software otherwise you will encounter problems, which I did at first having a Sapphire Radeon 9000 PRO previously installed & not uninstalling the drivers assuming ATI drivers will work for all regardless! For more installation, accessaries, and using all the capability of this card read the detailed manual on the included ATI driver & software CD. Very good card indeed...

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect card for all my needs!, February 28, 2005
This review is from: ATI Technologies ALL-IN-WONDER 9600 XT 128 MB AGP Graphics Card (100-714120) (Personal Computers)
1st off, I use this card in my HP Pavilion and well.. its GREAT I love that the program comes with the Guide Plus channel line up. Recording is easy to use and setup.

Although you WILL need to goto ati.com and download the newest drivers, but that isnt too much a issue.

Install is simple and this card has support for all your needs. Good 3d graphics speed, great playback settings and so. Plus I LOVE the remote! I mean whew.. cant watch a movie or divx without it!

Basically the XT is always better cause of the overclocking speed. I bought this instead of the 9800 AiW and well.. hasnt let me down yet!

Also the TV inputs for AV and S Video are great too! I hook up my Xbox, PS2 or Cube to this and it looks GREAT on the LCD monitor. Meaning you could now use your PC for EVERYTHING!

Also it has a FM tuner in there which was also a plus, so now you can record your radio station to your PC.

Also I did something the other day. I was at a hotel and was watching a movie there. We couldnt finish it cause we wanted to go swimming before the pool closed. So I used my Zodiac (Palm based PDA) and VNC (www.tightvnc.com) to logon to my PC at home. Had my PDA load the Guideplus and click the movie we were watching, taped it to record the rest of the movie so we wouldnt miss it. This way when we got home, we could just finish it. =)

Also have used this card to stream real audio content to my cell phone. (Nokia 3650 or any other s60 phone)

Basically broadcasting the live tv stream to any real audio player. =) Very nice card indeed and a good price for a card that will play it all!

4.0 out of 5 stars All-in-Wonder, June 5, 2005
This review is from: ATI Technologies ALL-IN-WONDER 9600 XT 128 MB AGP Graphics Card (100-714120) (Personal Computers)
This ATI card is the current generation of ATI All-in-Wonder, or at least it was when I got it. But it is still pretty amazing. It allows you to utilize several inputs-you can use the included software to display it in a separate window or even as your wallpaper - believe me, I was playing FFX-2 on my wallpaper. It has a built in TV tuner that lets you plug in your cable or entertainment center receiver. I mentioned the companion software-I'm usually not an advocate of companion software, but this one's got some value. Not only does the All-in-Wonder really do *everything*, but the performance is uncanny. Warning: high framerates. There is only one problem that I've had. This particular All-in-Wonder comes with an odd square-like connection on the back (other All-in-Wonders I've seen do not, such as the 9800) and the screws in mine broke the first day; pretty flimsy.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a good reliable card for the cost., May 15, 2004

WOW! This card is worth the money, for what it comes with and the things it can do. Now I have a graphics card that supports dual monitors, HDTV and has the ability to capture. When used with the new DVD drive, my PC is a home entertainment center. This is the card to get. It installed in one shot, and the remote is amazing.

My only problem is the documentation is somewhat sparse, not listing install process for new machine, or giving great detail on all features. What is with the GART?

New System:
ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe
AMD 3200 XP
1 GB Crucial PC-3200
AIW 9600XT
Audigy 2 ZS Platinum
16X DVD
Plextor CD Burner
Windows XP Pro

I am glad i waited six years to upgrade, from a PII machine.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is the best bang for the buck!!!, April 7, 2005

This review is from: ATI Technologies ALL-IN-WONDER 9600 XT 128 MB AGP Graphics Card (100-714120) (Personal Computers)
I bought this card about a year ago. I need to do some editing, and it was also nice to be able to record and pause live TV. After all this time, I can also play doom and half life at high qualities. the capture is impressive, and if yu have a DVD burner and Pinnacle software (included) you can make some nearly professional work in it. I bought it for school work (communications major) and not only have i been able to record my favorite shows since, but i started a small editing business. the card already payed off by itself. if you experience lockups and the such, believe me, its not the card, its your PC's config. best card for the buck.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great card, good software, June 28, 2007
This review is from: ATI Technologies ALL-IN-WONDER 9600 XT 128 MB AGP Graphics Card (100-714120) (Personal Computers)
I just purchased this new last week for my aging computer so that I would have a video capture card along with a TV tuner and FM radio. This also has TV guide plus and several other features that work well with my existing AMD system. This is the second ATI all in wonder I have owned, and the name does stand for quality. currently it is the only one available in this price range with all of these features included. Other video cards I have compared this too are the PNY personal cinema 6200 (excellent card also), and my first and favorite Voodoo 3500 agp, an awsome card that is still very good today. This was an easy set up, worked right away with windows XP, no problem installing stuff, and within minutes All things were a go. Check this out and check around for it, the price is worth it.

The card provides powerful graphics. However the TV and other features seem to be not compatible with my computer Compaq Pentium4 3.0GH 1GB RAM, Windows XP Pro. TV doesn't work every time, sometimes it doesn't start at all. Sometimes when you're trying to turn it off the sound stays and you must restart computer to get rid of the sound. The TV quality itself is not very impressive, for some reason. Many of the features like Remote Wonder,TV Scheduler and TV Guide don't work properly. The TV Guide for example might freeze in the middle of the search and you must restart your computer again.
Even when all the features work I'm not partucularly enjoying them: FM Radio has terrible scan capabilities and controls. Remote Wonder is very powerful but it tends for example to resize the TV screen every time I use it. Volume control has too wide gaps between selections.
I installed/unisnstalled this software for about 5 times already. I give up. ATI only provides phone support for more than $1 a minute, so I don't fell like paying them more, then I already did. I read all the good reviews about this card on many websites, but I also noticed that all the reviewers got their cards for free, so this could explain their praise.
The only features I enjoy are powerful Graphics processor and TV recording capability (to ensure that it will work I must restart the computer before I schedule a recording). I give it 3 stars for these 2 features only. If I'll have choice I will not buy any ATI product in future. They don't seem to provide free customer service when a customer has compatibility issues.
Why would it not work properly on Pentium4 3.0 Windows XP PRO? EVERY other program that I have works great.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great graphics, but no radio, May 13, 2005

This review is from: ATI Technologies ALL-IN-WONDER 9600 XT 128 MB AGP Graphics Card (100-714120) (Personal Computers)
Don't get me wrong, this card has built-in fm tuner, but it was a nightmare configure it.

First of all, the graphics quality is awesome, I had a mainstream video card before and upgrading to the 9600 series was a great improvement, you can play most of the latest games (HL2, Doom3, NFSU2) using 1024x768 resolution.

But as soon as I installed the card I had problems: I launched NFSU2 and there was problems with the graphics. I updated the Catalyst drivers but with the fm tuner stopped working. All I was able to hear was a static sound.

After googling the entire Internet for a long time, I found that the fm tuner has incompatibility issues with antivirus software, such as Norton. I went to the ATI support page and all they say is "kill the running antivirus program, listen to radio, stop listening to radio and enable again your antivirus", isn't that unbelievable? I did a lot of tweaking but the software from ATI for the All-in-wonder series is not the best. If you are going to buy this card, be careful not to use Norton antivirus and do not update the drivers to the latest version, use the bundled CD drivers.

I decided to sell this card and get an ATI 9800Pro, I'm sure I'm not going to miss watching TV on my computer, my TV has a bigger screen after all...

I am looking at a gadget,, resembling a flying saucer ( #OVU500201/00RF) none of ATI's documentation tells me what it is or how to use it. It had a USB plug and 2 jacks, for what I don't know. Where is the input for Remote Wonder II?

The quality of the TV is good, audio could be better. Using the output with 2 monitors is very good.

How do I get a copy of EAZYLOOK?

The specifications are inpressive, to bad the designer of the board did not write, or atleast read, the manual.

The only way I learn to effectively use the card is by error.

I get mine this week and i test it recording some tv programs, and the result was amazing.
For the person to ark for GART ist only the AGP driver for the motherboards, but if you install all the drivers for your mainboard's CD, yo cant expect any problem.
