You won't find a better road atlas anywhere that you can read without a magnifying glass. I disagree about the print quality with the other review that I read before buying this edition. The print quality is FINE. Yes, they did drill little holes in the center edges of the map, but how does that ruin the map? The Interstate highway on the left hand side of the page is blue and it travels across the gap to the other page and comes out blue.

You get so much detail in these maps. I've used my older edition several times to get off the Interstate because of a major accident and work my way around it on the back roads. This is a must-have tool for all travelers!

I had an older American Map Road Large Scale Atlas and found it to be an excellent atlas. But I thought it was time to buy a newer road atlas. Because I was so pleased with my previous Large Scale American Map Road Atlas, I chose to buy the 2011 version. I'm *very* disappointed in the print quality of this map; for example, on several pages, the blues are oversaturated on the left half and undersaturated on the right half. On some pages, the alignment on the "shadowed" printing is off fairly significantly. But most frustrating is the elimination of a margin on the edges where the atlas is bound, which makes that section of the map totally unreadable, which essentially makes the map useless. Unfortunately, I already transferred our notes (from traveling) from the older atlas to the 2011 atlas; otherwise, I would have returned the 2011 atlas. This map was a total waste of my money, and now I have to spend more money to buy a new atlas ... one where I can view the entire map.
