Great Game,

This review is from: ATV Offroad Fury 2 (Video Game)
Atv offroad fury 2 is one of the best games i have played. it is twice as good as the first one. You can do the freestyle and get some big big air, or you can do the racing which is also a lot of fun. I would give this two thumbs up! you might want to rent this before you buy it because if you do not like atvs you will have wasted 40 bucks when you just could have rented it. All in all great game!

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED!!!!!!!!!!!,

I thought this was going to be another excite bike (only atvs). But boy was i wrong.Your atv controls more like a very fast person rather than a care (play it to see it).The trick system is similiar to tony hawks pro skater/ssx tricky.Free ride is fun because the levels have very cool things and are unique. For example Arlington Stream has a train and water slide things.Rockbride Park has a bridge. Now,the multiplayer is AWESOME.You can do basically everything from single player (Enduro races, freestyle,Race, etc.)And also has games.Tag,Hockey,King of the Hills, and Treasure Hunt.Tag is the best. The ATVS are very realistic and look just like the real thing. Its pretty hard to unlock all of em.The gear is really cool too. I suggest u buy this,i rented first.

The Devil's in the Details,
This review is from: ATV Offroad Fury 2 (Video Game)
This review is to expand on some common complaints about this game. Upgrading your atv, opening maps and a couple of personal gripes that apply. I'd guess most people who play this for the 1st time started in the amateur circuit races. After a little practice on individual races and freestyle, most should be able to conquer the 1st amatuer championship. The surprise comes when you start the next "amatuer" championship and you get doored immediately by the AI riders who have been able to far upgrade their atv's. You are required to waste TONS of time finding ways to build up profile points to purchase better equipment (ie: racing and freestyle events that don't count toward opening the locked maps). I personally don't have all day to do this especially when I buy a game just for the fun of racing. My gripes are that the AI riders have the amazing ability to stay on their quads even when you land on top of them from 30ft in the air, yet if they even come within 5ft of you while they are, you are knocked unconcious, fly off your quad and suffer a crushed spine and severe head wounds. This deliberate glitch is especially annoying on the Final Lap within sight of the finish line(and when you only had enough time for one race). The second is the "turbo boost" the AI's seem to have on their quads. When you fall short on a set of hills, the game hints that the best thing to do is come to a complete stop on top of one hill and get a running start at the next. Which is true. However, the AI's can do it easily from a complete stop near the base of any hill, on average. I don't want to cheat to gain the advanced atv's and maps. But personally I think there's nothing more annoying than inconsistency in a $40 game. I think the developers should have saved all the software space it takes to create these problems and used it for an expanded soundtrack, more games(tag, hockey), more maps and "easter eggs"(things to look for) to make it more interesting once the basics are learned. Maybe a 2 disc set? Not unreasonable for all that money. Other than these few little quirks, the game is overall very good. The maps, rider views(1st person is amazing!), music and structure of the game were very well thought out and designed. Maybe the 3 stars was a little harsh, but I think a little constructive criticism will get them to pump out an even better game soon! (or an even more advanced system? woohoo!)

ATV2 is one of the best racing games for the PS2. It's time to get your buddies together and have some serious competition! Whether you like playing multiplayer or single, this game is awesome. The tracks are amazing with rougher environments including sand, water, snow, and ice. Try out the first person view also, a fun perspective! This game is more challenging than the original and you'll find yourself wanting to race just one more time before turning it off. If you liked the original or even if you haven't played it, check out this game. At $$$ you can't go wrong!

I had my doubts when I rented this game a few months ago. I just couldn't see how much fun an ATV game could be. (I am more into Auto racing, like Gran Turismo and World of Outlaws.) I played it with my 12 year old son, and we had the most fun we've had in a long time with a video game! This game has everything that it takes to be a great game: Awesome graphics, deep, challenging gameplay, mini games, features you have to unlock, online play, and most of all it is FUN. Needless to say, I bought the game! If you are looking for an exciting racing game with a few other challenges, like the stunt-oriented freestyle mode, do not hesitate, it is well worth your money.

If you like atvs or like PS2 games then this is the game for you.It has great grapics real atvs and gear it also is realistic. There is only two down falls if you go in the water over the riders head you will be brought back to where you started on land.Second you will be shot back to a place on the course if you go to far away from the course. But that distance is very far.Don't let these things stop you from getting Atv Offroad Fury 2.This game is is good for most ages.

Good Dirty Fun!,

This game is by far one of the best racing games I've played yet. Most games in this genre are pretty much a go as fast as you can and speed around a track... something is differnt about this game. You actually need to think your way around a lot of the obstacles and turns. The game is set up so if you hit any corner at the wrong angel you are toast. Throw into this the unique online aspect of the game and you have yourself a blast. I play this with a group of five other guys regualrly. It is so cool! They will leap on you like a pack of wild dogs. I also love the mini games within the games, and these give us ideas for our scenarios in the online games. This is a must own for racing game freaks.

first of all i bought this game for $... used... so think about the price and if your goning to spend $... on it. ok, this game is a huge improvement from the first it has twice the ATVs and twice the tracks and online is enabled, also it has 4 mini games.MINI GAMES: A. hockey: players still on their ATVs try to knock a huge puck into the others goal. the one with the most goals wins. B. tresure hunt: players try to collect as many coins as possible, most coins wins. C. king of the hill: players do tricks on hills when the trick is complete on that certain hill the hill becomes his/hers. the player with the most hills wins. you can steal hills by doing another trick but the trick must have more pionts than the one before. D. tag: players try to hold on to a ball the longer you hold it the more likely your going to win the player who holds on to the ball the longest wins. hiting the player with the ball will cause them to drop it and give you a chance to pick it up. if you fall with the ball you will drop it along with getting hit. all of these will give you hours of enjoyment with friends. the only problem is that when your raceing you would like to go fast but the ATVs aren't very fast the average is like 55mph, so if you just played midnight club 2 and then you play this game it might not be as fun.

Best One Yet!,

This game improves very much on the original ATV Offroad Fury. The same things are true in this one with the same expansive maps that literally go on for a long time. The maps are much more detailed and realistic, and the physics are very accurate. You cant really accomplish many of those impossible trick combos without wrecking. The mini games within the game are so cool. They include Tag, King of the Hill, and others. This game is a must buy for all driving genre fans, and ATV: Offroad Fury 1 fans!

This game is still a lot of fun even though it's simimlar to the first Offroad Fury. Good controls, sound effects, and music if you are under 30 years old. Your ATVs have more control in this one, instead of bouncing all over the track in the first one. It has all the same racing modes plus .... jumping through red or green targets, combo jump contests, and 4 cool mini games of tag, hockey, king of the hills, and treasure hunt. Two draw-backs are ----- Annoying "autosave" of your game info when you don't really want to save it and not enough tracks and ATVs unlocked at the begining of the game. Only two tracks in each catagory. Most people would probably like to run a lot of the tracks right away in the game instead of spending days of trying to openthem. All in all, it's still a lot of fun and is the next best thing to riding my yellow HONDA Foreman-S. REALLY!!! |
