This book would be great for someone who likes atvs or needs one but doesn't know much about them. If you read a few certain chapters you would be ready to go to a dealership and pick out the ATV you want and/or need. Its not the most detailed book because the author trys to span the entire spectrum of atvs in stead of just focusing on the stock atvs themselves. He really shows his expertice in many areas but neglects some other areas.

Overall very good book for the ATV newbie or a seasoned rider who wants some new tips and ideas, or just to sit back and read about ATVs!

The book was not written to review specific ATV models however it
will provide exelent information to the ones with a dilimma on which
type of ATV to go for. A must read for beginners It also covers a
big part regarding "safety" and "preservation of nature". It will
give a good picture of the sport to the future atv rider.

ps. To become good , at the end of the day you do need to get on the atv and ride....

ATVs: Everything You Need to Know (Everything You Need to Know) by Steve Casper is a great all around book concerning ATVs. It has enough plain language explanations to help bring the novice to intermediate rider into the ATV world. The thing I liked most about the book though is it even has good material for those of us that have been riding for awhile. Your money will be well spent with this book if you are considering entering the ATV world.
