I have had the Audio Stream AS-222 since Christmas and have had nothing but enjoyment from it. It comes with a free 35+song funpack of popular karaoke songs which by itself is worth alot... I connected it to my TV using the yellow video cord and two red/white audio cords. The karaoke disks are easily inserted into the player and after pushing play the song and its lyrics played through my TV. Sound quality will depend on your TV speakers since it has no built in speaker. The player comes with all kinds of pro features: digital key control and digital echo. Most of the other players dont have digital effects. The mics are great too, they are detachable cord mics. This means you can easily switch cords and mics. Most other units have their mic cords welded to the mic. Those are low end mics while detachable cord mics are pro. It also shows in the fingering of the mic. Most low end mics pick up any finger movement while you are singing. The AS-222 pro mics dont have this problem and have rich sound and high end pick ups....its a great value to have them included. Also the AS-222 has lots of on screen displays of time remaining, track number, multiplex status. For those of you not aware of multiplex karaoke disks read on. Some karaoke disks but not the ones with the AS-222 have dual tracks of each song, one track with the lead vocals and the karaoke version without lead vocals. The lead vocal track is left vocal and right music. If you push the multiplex button on the AS-222 with a lead vocal track the vocal cuts out when you sing ie your voice replaces the lead vocal. Neat way to learn the song. Then when you are accomplished you can switch to the karaoke version which is left and right channel stereo and sing away. All in all the AS-222 is a step above the rest of the karaoke players which seem made for holiday sales and not for serious singers.

Don't overlook the fact that this guy comes without a remote control like I did. When playing back some Video CD's (VCD's) it occassionaly skips about a quarter second of sound - the same VCD played on a Panasonic DVD player handles the same disk just fine.

The microphones are good enough for most karaoke users. The echo adjustment is plenty large enough. Jumping to a higher track number is a bit difficult but can be done.

Having two video and stereo pair outputs are nice, not having an RF to connect to a smaller televsion set isn't.

I recieved this item as a chrismas gift in 2003. I wish I could say I got this player home and was able to use it right a way. However there where problems from right out of the box.

I love music, and I enjoy karaoke. You can mess up sinigng a song in karaoke and typically no one cares. I asked for this AUDIOstream AS-222 Karaoke Player as a christmas gift in 2003. I chose it for it's compact size and at the time descent reviews.

Got the karaoke player home hooked it up and right away there was a problem with the two included mics. Thought I hooked the machine up wrong, so I had two other poeple look at it. (The friends also hooked it up according to the instructions.) Same problem w/mics.

Called the manufacturer four days after xmas. Manufacturer said though the AUDIOstream AS-222 Karaoke Player was still under waranty they could do nothing w/o the origanal reciept. Problem was this item was a xmas gift, so no reciept.

Found out later, the manufacturer of the AUDIOstream AS-222 Karaoke Player has a problem hnororing their waranties. I am not the only one this has happen to.

This karaoke matchine was eventually replaced with a working model three months later machine works fine now. What was the problem? Faulty mic input jacks. Yes turns out the manufacturer knew of the problem. Getting them to hnoror their waranties seems to be the biggest problem.
