I've had this shredder for a little over two years. Maybe my expectation of how long shredders should last is a little optimistic, but it recently stopped working (the gears no longer turn, although the thing still makes a ton of noise).

I won't buy another one from AURORA.

Shredder does not work with 8 regular sheets of plain white paper. It has difficulty processing four at a time. After about 15 minutes of four-at-a-time shredding, the unit shuts down due to a thermal switch (to keep from overheating). It takes about 20 minutes for the unit to revive itself. This is a good limited-duty shredder, but don't count on it to help shred a boxful of papers.

The shredder is advertised with the ability to shred credit cards. I tried to shred one and it jammed the shredder. I had to use tweezers to pry the card out. This shredder can only handle up to four sheets of paper and no credit cards.
