When I was doind research on mind machines and different relaxation products, I was very fortunate to stumble upon the AV3X Mind Machine, especially for such a fair price. I typically use this DVD when I want to take a nap or prepare to sleep. Even after a very stressful day, the AV3X allows me to quickly experience deep relaxation - and the whole process is effortless. All it takes is to sit back and just observe the unique audio and visual images. In no time, despite how worked up I might be, I'm able to rid my mind of stress and get some badly needed rest. The customer service is terrific also. I can tell you from personal experience that the creator and seller of this DVD cares about his customers and is a class act. I highly recommend this product, because there's really nothing else like it. Its all I expected, and a whole lot more - it really works!

As a television videojournalist, my days can be stressful and can put a strain on my eyes. Looking for ways to unwind without putting chemicals or alcohol in my body, I found out about light and sound machines for relaxation. But after a little research I found even the least expensive one runs around US$125.00.

Then during a random web search I noticed Christopher Oliver's 'AV3X: The TV Mind Machine.' At about $US30.00, it sounded like a bargain and worth at least a try. I ordered from Amazon and it arrived in two days.

Now, I've seen some interesting computer generated animation videos which are sometimes interesting, sometimes painful to watch. I'm talking about the random, swirling, bubbling, lava-lamp style CGI shows with new age music that probably accompany Grateful Dead music at parties. AV3X is *not* that.

First of all, it's not meant to be 'watched' so much as 'experienced.' Visually, you'll see drifting, swirling, vivid computer generated images, much like the patterns of color you'll see if you close your eyes and look toward the sun for a few minutes. These are overlaid by a white, pulsating flash that you hardly notice after about 30 seconds. The sounds include running water, atmospheric music, and an almost imperceptible throbbing beat. It may not sound like much, but put it all together and it floods the senses. Turn off the lights, settle back in your comfy chair, and pick one of the tracks.

If you're not drooling and numb within about 5 minutes, I'd be surprised. Well, maybe not that relaxed, but it's possible. At any rate, if you let your thoughts fade and focus on what you're seeing and hearing, you'll almost automatically relax. Your body can't help it, because it's responding to a built-in reaction to the pulsing lights and beats. The music, sounds and visuals are just for interest, and they *are* very interesting, and draw you into the experience.

Bottom line: buy it. Seriously. You'll get the effect every time you watch it, don't worry. And you won't believe how well you'll sleep that night!

I have bought many [bad] DVDs claiming to take you on so-called spiritual or mind altering journeys. Each one such a disappointment. If it wasn't for a review from a trusted site, I would not have known of this GEM.

This is a DVD for true explorers of the consciousness. You feel the effect within few minutes of watching this DVD. It is very obvious to those who have worked and studied the mind altering frequencies and machines that quite a bit of thought and effort have been put to create this DVD.

It is quite refreshing to find a producer who takes his or her audience seriously and with respect.

For those explores out there THIS IS A MUST DVD.

Ever want to improve your concentration, willpower not to overeat, quit smoking, sleep better, think more, work faster, be more productive or just expereince less stress? If you answered yes to all or any of the above this disc could be a step in the right direction for you. Computer imagery combined with light pulses and unique soundtracks stimulate mental pathways and enhance thought processes. This is a great introduction to mind machines at a very small investment.
No expensive equipment is required except a DVD player, TV and
time. A Great way to get started on increasing mental focus and very entertaining and relaxing. Enjoy!

This video hits you with a heroic dose of transdimensional fractallized morphing art! The synchronized musical soundtrack is easily on a par with Jeffrey S. Thompson's wildest brainwave music! AV3X is a BONAFIDE brainwave entrainment device that induces relaxing and meditative states in the theta and alpha ranges. Like a souped-up 21st Century Dream Machine, it sweeps the viewer away on a true cyberdelic experience! I was asleep within five minutes of the first time i played it, but was able to make repeated viewings later. This product evokes a rapid and pronounced relaxation response. It can be meditated to by experienced sound meditators, and can serve the novice by introducing them to sustained "clean wave" states. There are many forms of meditation including entrainment by sound. I recommend this primarily to people who want immediate relaxation and something beautiful to look at. While I have meditated to AV3X, I more enjoy its Journey aspects. The visuals consist primarily of highly detailed and aesthetically impressive computer animation which superimposes "multiple dimensional realities" if you will, on each other so your focus is making vast transitions. By which I mean you could be viewing subatomic, molecular and galactic objects simultaneously, as it were. As your attention shifts amongst the various elements, you trance out. A strobe effect synchronized to the video and audio is a major cause of the immediate response, I think. It is SO intense i thought i might have a flashback after watching it for a couple of hours. in fact, i think maybe i DID have one! (Your brain adjusts to the strobe effect pretty quickly, so in a matter of minutes it seems peripheral - also, the new edition has a strobe disable feature which would be handy for showing it to other people, since some people initially are put off by it - not me!) This disc is like the lower levels of the psychedelic experience, where one sees all kinds of geometrics and morphing clouds of color, but the BONUS is that one gets entrained by fortune of a savvy use of the latest technology into extremely relaxing and salutary states. After many viewings, it seems to me that there actually IS a narrative movement of sorts which is a story of evolution from the interior view of consciousness moving into solidity, then embodiment, and then into more ethereal forms. Furthermore, the musical accompaniment is a solid and intriguing work of Visionary music that true aficionadoes MUST hear at some point. The genre is thoroughly modern dark Ambient brainwave music which at certain moments hints of rockbeat but never does. The primary wave is sometimes quite pronounced. It is not hard Techno. My use of it has been strictly solitary meditation or casual relaxation, so I can't comment on its party aspects. But it would no doubt be a great group experience with a pot of tea. Not only is Oliver using resonance, primordial sounds, and synthesized curliques, but there is a interesting use of what sounds like overtone singing. Lots of processed water sounds that are similar to the music of Boris Mourashkin (a Russian healing music composer,) challenging but in AV3X's case pleasing and "curiouser & curiouser...." At Last: somebody has created a visual equivalent for cutting edge brainwave music! Although the price might seem high, if you are looking for instant deep relaxation while you lounge before the television, this will do it far better than low-priced brainwave machines that go for 10 times its price. I wanted to start this review by saying something like "Amaze your friends! Be the first one on your block! Convert your living room into a mighty realm of psychic adventure and ordered chaos!" But i didn't think you'd read this far if I did. lastly: this disc is extremely intense. not for the faint of heart or for anybody who has boundary issues and doesn't want to be swept away by the TV. it is as safe as playing with a strobe light, but is therefore NOT recommended for anybody susceptible to seizures from flashing light.

I've been a student of self hypnosis and relaxation techniques for a few years now and I wish I had this DVD when I started my exercises. Watching the computer generated random images and listening to the sometimes nature sounding, sometimes techno background music puts me into a somnolent state very effectively. Within the first few moments of each section, I didn't even notice the light flashes for the FFR portion of the DVD.

After a hard day at the office this can really unwind the kinks that you build up. I feel refreshed and ready to do or get things done instead of playing the couch potato game. I very enthusiastically recommend this DVD if you're interested in a relaxation tool to help you. This is definitely it.

I have been interested in binaural beat technology for a while now. I have experienced its effectiveness many time, but none of that prepared me for this amazing DVD. The first thing anyone notices upon playing this video is the amazing visual effects. They immediately have a soothing effect that can hardly be described with words. However, the experience soon goes beyond that. By the third track on this DVD, I felt as if I could not move even if I had wanted to. I was riveted in my seat and noticed that my breathing had slowed. I felt as if I were in a deep trance and actually part of the images that were flowing on my television screen. Unfortunately, I fell alseep sometime during the fourth track because of the immense relaxation that I was experiencing. I've only made it through the entire DVD once since that first viewing.

I know that people who have no experience with this type of technology may be extremely skeptical, but I urge you to try it before making any rash decisions or dismissing it as impossible. Much research and science has gone into producing this DVD, and the effects of that careful preparation is immediately evident by the results. I have found no greater tool for meditation or relaxation to date and highly doubt that anything can surpass it. To get all this at a fraction of the price that this technology usually carries with it is all the more reason to purchase this DVD immediately.

In summary, I HIGHLY recommend buying this DVD if you enjoy feeling relaxed and at total peace with the world. This is like a technological prozac, and I, for one, am addicted!

The AV3X DVD deserves 10 stars! I could not believe how relaxed I became when I watched this DVD for the very first time - it is incredible! After a long day at work, I have found this to be the BEST way to unwind and relax...for me, it is now the ONLY way to melt all of my stress off. It makes me feel like I have been laying in a hammock, rocking slowly at the beach, lazily enjoying the sunshine and shade, for days...very, very comfortably. The feeling of peaceful idleness overcomes my entire body. The combination of watching the beautiful swirls and listening to the soothing music really makes me feel as if
nothing else matters at the moment; everything is so serene.

If anyone is thinking about buying this DVD, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it in a heartbeat - I feel the AV3X is worth far more than what you would pay for it. The results are amazing! I feel very fortunate to have found the AV3X - it really does work to the extreme; if anyone asks me, I would tell them to GO BUY IT NOW!

What a brilliant and awesome DVD this is! I am so impressed by this DVD~ it is incredible to view, and superbly made. The beautiful images and sounds are very soothing to my eyes and ears, relaxing me instantaneously; The colors are very bright, clear and vivid...they become alive; At times, I felt as if I was flying to the center of the universe, in a hypnotic fashion...I was mesmerized! I have never seen anything like this before~ it's amazing!

I would, without hesitation~ recommend the AV3X to anyone; It is well worth the price, and a small investment for how it will make you feel...it really works. The very first time I watched this DVD, I had to watch it over again. I've tried many other relaxation / unstressing tools before, but NOTHING has EVER come close to this DVD...it produces results FAST. I will definitely be using the AV3X for meditation in the future; I am so glad that I found this DVD~ I will be buying more!!

Having been a mind machine user for many years I was pleasantly surprised at the affect on my consciousness when I viewed, or I sould say, experienced, the AV3X DVD.

A TV mind machine is the perfect explicative to describe this DVD disk. Just pop it in your DVD Rom drive on your PC, or forget about the PC and use your normal everyday DVD TV or home theater system and your off...................
Off to an audio/visual phantasmagoric place of stressless wonderment.
A wide screen projection TV home theater system is my preferred environment to engage this puppy.
If your a couch potato though......watch out. You could become the couch.......or the potato
But I digress.

For sheer beauty and artistic presentation alone this DVD should become part of everyone's DVD library. CAN YOU SPELL FANTASIA? Well can ya punk?
AV3X is the Fantasia of the 21st century!

The audio part of the production is far more complex, intricately woven and synchronized then anything found with traditional mind machine technology, where mere simple and complex beats and chords are the triumph of the day. This tends to bore even the most intrepid explorer, and explains why most users fall asleep with traditional mind machines, even in a high energy session.
Not so with the AV3X....................
The subtle texturing of the musical imagery combines uniquely created ambient sounds with any array of psychoacoustic tones, that combined with the visual impact, produce a kind of kaleidomorphic experience that is "view-pulsed" through your eyes and ears and thus your Mind and Consciousness.
Heck, why do you think they call it a TV Mind Machine?

I was fairly skeptical about any kind of real focus that could be produced via an external, eye-open mind-state manipulation presentation, as opposed to the traditional closed-eye methods, via use of LED encrusted glasses, the modus operende' of the classical Light and Sound (L/S) machine.

Such an intellectual position quickly vanishes when you realize the subtle magnetic attraction that gently pulls your mind and the focus there-of, into the open-eyed daylight of a very precise and deliberately powerful phantasmagoria of synchronized, and intricately layered Light and Sound.

What more can one say. For the novelty of the experience alone, you should check this DVD out.
If your stressed out the wazzoooooooo, then this puppy is for you.
If you want to just relax and chill, I can't think of a better tool to use.

Whether you buy AV3X TV Mind Machine for it's enhanced psychedelic nature and novelty, or buy it for it's psychological therapeutic benefits, you should be very pleased with your purchase.
So much so that your be wondering, like me, when the next release will be out.
