5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!
As you can see, no one gives this CD 2, 3 or 4 stars. Its either 5 or 1. What it tells me is that: people who realy like euro-dance and heard that CD give true rating about that music. Others are just either jealous (which is most likely) or don't understand anything in music. SOULARIS is the group that we in US should support and develop as an artists. I realy like...

3.0 out of 5 stars VARIOUS STYLES: Eurodance, Trance, Dream...
I think this album has been influenced by several styles of music: eurodance for sure, a little bit of trance (their use of synthetizers) and dream e.g. (ZEE PLANET really reminds you of ROBERT MILES). For those who just discovered european-style dance music, it's good to listen to their album, but if you are into trance/progressive house this one is too mainstream.

5.0 out of 5 stars Is Eurodance heading to U.S. finally?, June 9, 1999

What does make this album special is style of the music. It is EURODANCE, it is TRANCE, it is DREAM, you can name them all. You might ask how come album with dance music was released in NYC (obviously hard to believe !!!). The answer is again quite simple. Behind the group are Russian performers, and the country has long tradition in keeping the dance music alive. So here it is. "Avalon" by Soularis. The album features dance tracks from all mentioned above styles. When listening to it, you will have the feeling that artists when composing music were reaching to good examples of European dance artists. You will hear similarities to Masterboy, Bad Boys Blue, Robert Miles, DJ Bobo yet the music is fresh and inspiring. Several tracks are outstanding. For instance "Dance All Night" is very interesting and musically diversed EURODANCE track reminding best of BAD BOYS BLUE and DJ BOBO instrumentation. I was very impressed with female vocal by Russian performer Nora Doncheva. Amazing, strong voice warrants Nora a title of new EURODANCE DIVA leaving Marina from MRK Records (also based in NYC) in the shadow. Her vocal abilities have virtually unlimited potentials. The male vocal (RAP) needs some improvement, but Nora's performance helped to overcome some of male vocal weaknesses. If you like DREAM and TRANCE you really should check "Zee Planet", beatiful track with angelic piano section. If you like more TRANCE/TECHNO sound, go for "Year 2097". The album closes ballad-like track "Best Friends" that carries nostalgic message from the group about friendship full of their personal reflections. Taken together it is very nice release and we here in US should support both the label and the artists from this group. With more releases like this we might help dance music spread around the country.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simply Marvelous., February 3, 2000
By A Customer

I got 2 words for this album: Amazing and wonderful. Soularis is the US answer for artists like 2 Brothers on the 4th Floor. Simply marvelous songs, ranging from eurodance through euroreaggae to dreamhouse. Some songs could really be big hits on european dancefloors, one example is "Travel" a super eurodance song. Another one is "Zee Planet". "Zee Planet" is a true masterpiece, it has that same wonderful feeling that Robert Miles "Children" had and I'm sure that it could be as big as "Children". Nora Doncheva's vocals on the album is outstanding, powerful and wonderful. Although the rap is good it can be better. Simply amazing and wonderful.

I was a bit skeptical about this CD especially after reading a few one-star reviews. I took a chance and bought AVALON. To my surprise I discovered a new talented group that sure has a good music. I am new to this kind of dance music but they made me like it. Now I buy Trance and Euro-Dance on a regular basis. Keep up a good work SOULARIS!

I will be short. If you like Eurodance, trance or just good solid beats with nice keybords and base, then get it. If you are in heavy metal, hard core rap or hip-hop, then go to another page and get backstreet boys or Britney Spears or something like that. As for Soularis: Well done! Keep it up, guys!

When I first listened to "AVALON" I was really surprised by the music! Its very dancable and believe it or not, words make sence too! I just hope we would have more music like that in United States. I really recommend this album to everyone who loves to dance and to dream, because some of the tracks are just instrumental and they are excellent! Soularis you better hurry to get your second album out!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Soularis Is One Of the Best Eurodance/Clubdance Groups.., May 3, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: AVALON (Audio CD)
Soularis is one of the best eurodance/clubdance groups in NYC. Their unique blend of hiphop, eurodance, clubdance and pop gives this group a refreshing musical experience. I see this group going places, doing very well and successful in their musical careers. Whomever comments about Soularis in a negative and subjective way has not truly been gifted with the unique qualities of a music connoisseur. They should know better than to be ignorant. I see fame, success, and an ongoing musical, delightful journey with Soularis. Bravo!
