SInce I only have the two fan cooling pad, I can only speak to that one. I have bought numerous pads in the last few years. This one is the quietest I've ever had and does a good job cooling my laptop. My only complaint is when lifted with one hand, the fans hit the surrounding mesh. It is the only flaw I can think of with the item.

It keeps both my laptop and my all-in-one cool. It works very well, but if you have a really hot laptop you may need to investigate alternative strategies.

Not really meant for intense gaming. I for one have played for at least 6 hours straight with this fan on and it kept my laptop cooler than it would be without it. But it won't keep in cold per say. The laptop will still emit warm heat, not burning heat. As for use on the lap, I would prefer using it on a table with it's legs up, allowing more air to go through the bottom to allow the fan to suck it up. I, however use this fan on my lap and it kept my legs freezing cold, I would have to put a blanket over it to keep my legs warm. I hope this is helpful

There is an on/off switch on the back of the chill pad. Did you try flipping this switch?

The 'USB cable/plug' goes in the 'USB port'. Check the sides of your laptop or the front/back of the CPU tower of your computer for a USB port symbol. (Google images so you know what you're looking for.) This cooling pad has another port built in to it so you don't loose a port when you use it, which is very convenient.

Send it back. Something is wrong. None of my fans are loose. They are quite sturdy.

Personaly mine is very sturdy. It only flexes a little when you laptop is on it. Without the laptop weight it's actually sturdy. So yes it will travel well
