Installed a new head unit in a 2006 Ford, and needed something to be able to bypass the silly block that would be placed on the ability to watch a video. I would never watch a video, but my young daughter would love to be able to enjoy something besides music to listen to on a trip.

Bought this because it was small and seemed easy to install. And it was all of those. Took me about 10 min to install per the instructions that were sent with the product. The product works great as it was said to.

Two thumbs up from me for this bypass

as noted, completely easy to install, just make sure you tap in to your aftermarket in dash unit harness before tapping into your factory harness. works perfectly.

Don't waste your money. Check the youtube videos on how to do this by simply repositioning the wires in your connectors.. [...]

Used this on my new JVC KW-NT500HDT headunit and it works just fine. The last headunit i installed was a JVC KW-NT1, and i simply connected the parking brake wire to ground, and that did the trick. I suspect that the same thing could be done rather than using this thing, but i decided to play it safe and drop 10 bucks on this thing; I was half tempted to cut this one open and see what sort of resistors and stuff they used in here, but i didn't. If you have the time to play with things, try jumpering the green parking brake wire on your headunit harness to the ground wire, and you may not even need to buy this thing.
ADDITIONAL NOTE: some GPS headunits also use GPS location to determine vehicle speed (the JVC KW-NT500HDT does), and they may evaluate whether your car is travelling over 3MPH (or some similar speed). Therefore you may have to combine this part with an additional fix to work around your headunit's safety features. I've heard that you can put a 3ohm resistor on the VSS wire (Vehicle Speed Sensor, it hooks into your speedometer in the dash, and operates using a pulsing signal) and it will slow down the pulses enough to always appear less than 3mph; however, there is very little information out there on this, and i have no interest in messing with my speedometer. I was lucky enough that on the newer JVC headunit, it will still let you play videos while driving with just this kit; it does pop up with a message saying that your VSS wire is not connected, but you can click OK and continue watching.

This did not work with a Pioneer Avec series head unit. I had to ground the parking break lead the remote input. Triple checked the install, it simply doesn't work with some Pioneer models.

Works well unless you want to use the AutoEQ feature, in that case you'd need to still hook it up to the parking break with a diode for the autoEQ feature, There is a reason for this but you can search the net for that.
