Just a quick comment as I got the sword today and it is not what is on the picture. This is the more common wood sword with the flat wide u looking hand guard. I don't have any experience with swords but the quality seems OK but it is the same sword that is available for $12-$14 elsewhere. I picked the one in the picture because it looked like the quality was a bit better. This is why you should not find a date on the internet too :) Anyway I hope to attend a bagua sword seminar around the middle of May and will let you know if the sword does the job. I'm giving one star for being slipped what I assume is the lower quality product.

the wooden sword is in good shape but is not the sword I payed for. the sword in the image is not the sword I received. actually I already own one just like it. I don't complaint for the state of the sword, simply that is not the one I payed for.
