I had a very different experience than the other reviewr here. The unit was purchased on Tuesday with standard shipping. It arrived in Los Angeles via UPS Red on Friday. Assembly is time consuming, but very manageable. Just be certain to read the manual completely before assembling. It is extremely important to do everything in the order specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, you will need to take things apart and put them back together again.

Once assembled, the units are stunning. We bought several for our patio, and can attest to the fact that they are identical to units branded under other nameplates costing as much as $1,800. Careful shopping really paid off.

I agree with the other reviewer, this unit is very comparable to the higher priced models sold at $1,800.00. In fact, I was considering purchasing "Bonfire's" model for over $900 and I'm glad I did not as I was comparing the parts in detail, it is the exact same product with Bonfire's name plate! Bonfire does however have a natural gas model and i think I will convert this propane model to natural gas by purchasing Bonfires natural gas burner tray. So the unit is average grade parts, but when it is all assembled, you can't tell much difference between this and the other higher priced units. Granted it doesn't have a remote control, but the side panel is chained and magnetic at the top and hinged at the bottom, so the panel just pulls apart a few inches easily to press the red electric piazo ignitor.... it has a battery, so it continues to send sparks, not click and spark like some old barbecue grills. It fires right up, and the flames go approx 3/4 of the way up, and the tips of the flame hit the top. The heat generated is enough to take the bite out of a 60-70 night, but not quite the heat generated at your commercial restaurants from the traditional patio heaters. The light does however provide great atmosphere and everyone is mesmerized by the heater! And I found the instructions to be adequate and assembly time took approx 2 hours. The product came adaquately packaged as well, and the bolts were in a sealed package. The unit does also come with 2 wheels that bolt onto the frame if desired to allow you to tilt and move the heater. You won't be disappointed.

This took major assembly, many many pieces and parts. You can not move this unit WITHOUT TAKING THE PROPANE tank out. It is not clear on that in the book. We tried to move it and the brackets immediately bent, and one broke. However, it was easy to light and looked pretty cool all lit up.

Spectacular when lit, great ambiance. But, moved it twice, and glass tub cracked. No spare parts available from AZ. Now I have a boat anchor. Very disappointed, Would not recommend, too fragile.

First you need to know that these glass tube heaters dont put out as much heat as the traditional style heater. It is just the nature of their design. I have sat under many on patios and restaurants so I knew this going in. It arrived quickly, was easy to put together and didn't have any damage during shipment. It looks great and was east to use as well.

It puts out a nice little wave of heat after it has warmed up and you arent more then 5 feet away from it. It really does look fantastic and I get compliments on it all the time. You do need to be careful moving it around, especially if the LP tank is in it as it is sturdy but not sturdy enough to toss around.

For this price I would buy again.

The heater came in 3 days. Assembly isn't bad if you read the directions clearly. Make sure to only assemble the inside screws first and wait on the outside screws until later steps. The heater will be a big conversation piece with everyone. I love just watching the flames jump around. It gives off good heat, but if it is in the 50's, don't expect it to be 70 around the heater. It is extremely easy to start. Turn gas on and press a button. You can have it up and running in seconds. I highly recommend!

I bought this heater and used it two times. The gas hose melted off at the connection and the temperature control box melted. I am thankful that we were watching it at the time that this happened or the propane gas would have been escaping and could have caused a major problem.

I have to stand... even if I`m an "AMAZON-Junky"... I bought this heater in a add at a local store.
It was a - like I call it - affect based purchase on impulse :-) since it was under $200.

I assebled it at home...

:-) All parts were in it!
:-) Assembly manual was in the box... hard to find but good described what to do.
:-) The Flame is an eye-catcher -- GREAT LOOK!

:-( A lot of sharp edges on that thing... cut my fingers really heavily... had to stop the assemble for 2 days and use gloves after that...
:-( A few of the screws to fix the grid are too short to hold... (I will replace by longer ones from HD)
:-( The upper part is not made corect. it is only possible to mount it off-centered, what means the corners of the upper sheet metal are not matching to corner of the lower part. That really looks strange. I will replace that one by a bigger one what may als well distribute the hot air better.

:-/ Doesn't heat so much. (but I expect that already)

Once it was built... is nice if it burns... but don`t expect too much heat from this device... It takes a while until U feel something like heat around... and it you are more away than 4 feet it will even be less or hard to feel.
2 stars... because it looks good for under $200 (in my case)

But they should work on the quality of the edges... you should use gloves especially if you assemble the retaining ring for the gas tank!!!
And the wohle thing is a bit "rickety" what doesn't mean, that the heater falls... just a few of the sheet metals are not so high-quaility connected.

Again... Once it assembled and a bit enhanced it looks great... :-)
