ABBA - The Albums (Box Set)

Biography

Swedish pop sensations ABBA are the prime example of why "pop" should never be seen as a dirty word by finger-wagging music snobs - songs like "Waterloo", "Money, Money, Money" and "Dancing Queen" are undeniable slices of pop perfection that prove there's room for bubblegum in any healthy diet.

ABBA were formed in 1970 as the Festfolk Quartet. They performed a caberet act at a Gothenburg, Sweden… Read more in Amazon's ABBA Store

5.0 out of 5 stars Great French compilation, April 11, 2011
This review is from: The Abba Story (Audio CD)
This compilation was released in France in 1991 by Polydor. It sold 250,000 copies and inspired the release a year later of the internationally known best-of "Gold". "Abba Story" features 25 tracks on 2 CDs. Tracklisting is based on ABBA songs that were popular in France. A great compilation without a doubt!

3.0 out of 5 stars Another ABBA Compilation?, June 22, 2004
By
This review is from: Abba Story (Audio CD)
Yep, it's another compilation and not a very good one at that. The packaging is good, but the songs (most of them) are shorter versions (not edited, just faded a few seconds earlier than the original versions). The only plus is that the bad spot in Dancing Queen in this 24-bit remaster has been corrected and this time it's even harder to detect. Knowing Me, Knowing You has also been corrected in this remaster, but it sucks more than the previous 24-bit remasters. If you're a die-hard fan (like me) you'll buy this album no matter WHAT anyone says about it, but I would suggest The Definitive Collection above this one to those of you just looking for a good collection of ABBA songs, you get all the same songs but ALL the big hits worldwide!

4.0 out of 5 stars Too many ABBA best of ?, February 24, 2005
This review is from: Abba Story (Audio CD)
This album is not bad I agree, but nothing compare to the "original" releases. ABBA is a great band and if you never heard their music you could start by buying this one, then you'll surely buy the others !!!
