About the Author

Hans Bertram grew up in Brunschweig, West Germany, and went through a classical European training in all areas of a hotel kitchen. He had always cherished a desire to travel, and on the completion of his training he did so. It is clear that by the time Hans Bertram came to the United States in 1967, his culinary style had developed and expanded to include the best of a variety of world cuisines. He is chef at the Abbey restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia.

If you have ever been to The Abbey in Atlanta, this book is a MUST HAVE! The dining experience there is absolutely the best I have ever experienced. To be able to bring part of that home is wonderful!

The book is well written and the recipes are easy to understand. For example, any recipe you review has a title, lists yield, has a description, has suggested uses, the recipe and special hints or notes.

I am very likely to try some of these 5 star restaurant recipes for my family. I think it is a wonderful book and a wonderful keepsake from my trip.
