Julie lived on the wild west coast of the South Island for about 9 years before returning home where she now lives and raises her two children and their cats and Rottweiler.
Julie has written 4 books in her popular series....Abby and the Hopplescotch Realm is followed by Anika and the Techno Pirates and Magical Chaos at Beechhorn Cove. This book teaches kids some life skills with dealing with issues like text bullying all hidden in a rollicky read around a small town and a murder, filled with all sorts of fabulous characters doing all sorts of mayhem........
Julie had a re-print of Abby and the Hopplescotch Realm in 2007 when it was released with a new cover.
Time Bandits and the Fountain of Youth is now out digitally only.
Julie has been busy uploading all her books to www.smashwords.com where they can be bought digitally.......The series is written in past tense but Abby was originally written in present tense then changed to past tense for publication, I found the present tense in my computer and have released that digitally only.
She has also been busy penning an adult series of very ooky spooky books.....
She delves into alternative health and loves to swim and dance and has been working on an adult series of books as well..........she loves exploring the mystical side of life and loves to include them in her books You may follow Julie on Facebook or on twitter. The creatures that live in the Hopplescotch realm sounded rather intriguing - I would have liked to see more of those and maybe some more descriptions.
Overall, an entertaining enough book, but the writing style seemed a little unpolished and did not flow very easily.

This book is written with a wonderful insight of people. Julie Folkers has managed create an atmosphere whereby the human characters act in such a life-like way that you would believe them to be real.
It is not often I find a book that my twelve year old son, my nine year old daughter and myself are all completely engrossed in from start to finish.
A book I highly recommend for children, young adults and adults who are children at heart.
