It contains over 300 scans with detailed legends explaining pathologic findings and arrows pointing out diagnostically significant features of each image. The first two chapters discuss the capabilities and limitations of real-time ultrasound, the instrumentation and techniques, and the basic principles of interpretation. Subsequent chapters focus on specific abdominal organs. Also included is a chapter on endoscopic sonography of gastrointestinal disorders.
