5.0 out of 5 stars Abducted At The Altar, January 5, 2007
This review is from: Abducted At The Altar (Harlequin Historical) (Mass Market Paperback)
Shane Graham is being forced into an arranged marriage with a woman he doesn't love. Dorie MaCabe has loved Shane forever. She's not about to let him marry another woman so she kidnaps him from his wedding. It doesn't take long before the love that has always been there between Shane and Dorie to blossom. But Shane has to go through with his arranged marriage or lose everything he owns to his bride's unscrupulous father. Can he marry another woman loving Dorie the way he does

Adbucted at the Altar is a sweet historical romance that is fun and heartwarming. Although I was torn, wanting Shane to choose Dorie no matter what the cost, I loved Shane and Dorie's story. Charlene Sands gives the reader a story with humor and emotion that is perfect for when you just want to escape into a great romance.

Innocent? Yes! Willing to settle for a one night stand? In this time frame I don't think so.
Do we get a story of all the naughty girls?

Shane Graham, a struggling rancher, has looked after Miss Dorie and her 13 year old brother for the past three year.
Shane is being blackmailed into marrying Marilee Barkley because she is pregnant and her father holds Shane's notes.

Well, Miss Isadora McCabe has received a missive that her half-brother, Jeremiah, has grandparents in the offing wanting to meet their only heir.
She is afraid they will be wanting to take Jeremiah away from her.

She is determined to have Shane pretend to be her husband to prove that her brother is being raised rightly. But first she has to abduct him from the Altar. Would you believe she knocks him out and takes him to a cabin in the hills.

Yup, she crawls, most innocently, in bed with him.
She talks to him -- later on he is gored by one of his steers. She comes to his rescue, plunking him in her bed.

It is a humorous ongoing story of their attraction - threats from Barkley - and then it is ruined for me when she wants to settle for a one night stand.

Of course the grandparents eventually find out the true situation and settle Barkley's hash along with Dorie helping Marilee. Resolving quite nicely.

An enjoyable read --m
