Book Description

March 2004
Just a second. That was all it took. In that second Anita Sherwood sees the face of the young boy in the window of the bus as it stops at the curb...and she knows it is her son. The son who had been kidnapped two years before. The son who had never been found and who had been declared legally dead. But now her son is alive. Anita knows it in her heart. She is certain that the boy is her son, but how can she get anyone to believe her? She'd given the police leads before that ended up going nowhere, so they're not exactly eager to waste much time on another dead end on a dead case. It's going to be up to Anita, and she'll stop at nothing to get her son back.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Thrillers of the Year, April 8, 2005

Brian Pinkerton's ABDUCTED may have passed under your radar due to its low profile release, but if you are fortunate enough to discover this title, you will be rewarded with a reading experience far superior to many recent thrillers on the New York Times Bestsellers list.
Though there have been many novels involving the abduction of a child, in Mr. Pinkerton's hands the concept is fresh and full of completely unexpected plot twists. You WILL audibly gasp at at least one point. You WILL read this book in one sitting...even if the house is on fire!
Judging from this novel, and his most recent one VENGEANCE, Brian Pinkerton is a name to remember. His work is already superior to those of well-known names such as James Patterson and James Siegel.

Also Recommended: HOME IS THE SAILOR by Day Keene; THE CONFESSION by Dominic Stansberry; GRIFTER'S GAME by Lawrence Block; THE CRIMINALIST by William Relling Jr.; NIGHT CAGE by Andrew Harper; SUNSET AND SAWDUST by Joe R. Lansdale; THE ICE HARVEST by Scott Phillips.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Wife Wants a Little One -- Forget It!, March 6, 2004
By

She'll get a little one, alright. But not the kind she's hoping for.

No kids for me after reading Pinkerton's book. This world is no place for innocent children. Besides, I've already seen too many kids on the bus that could be mine.

I don't read fiction. I don't like fiction. I don't like guys -- authors or not -- with full heads of black hair. But something compelled me to pick this book off the display table at Barnes & Noble. (OK, I'll touch anything that's shiny and red, but that's a different story.) And I loved it!

This is a sensational read. Pinkerton has written a can't-put-it-down thriller that left me wanting more. The book reads like a screenplay -- it's that vivid; plays like a movie in your mind. I might just give more fiction a chance. Maybe I'll start with his other book!

Brian Pinkerton is one talented writer. I bet he could even make insurance sound interesting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome book!, May 30, 2004

I read this book in 2 days, couldn't put it down! I had never heard of this author before, but I took a chance and I am so glad I did. Anyone who has children can sympathize with the main character Anita. There was never a dull moment in this one. Highly recommended!!
