Book Description

Samantha needed a break, and Las Vegas seemed like the perfect escape. After inheriting her father's farm and being cheated on by her long-time boyfriend, she decided she needed a change to make her own destiny. She expected sooner or later Prince Charming would come along and sweep her off her feet.

She did not expect to be swept off to the stars... literally.

Abducted by a young alien who's inexperience with anything female proves to be more than an inconvenience, Samantha's days of house-arrest on a war torn planet are boring and dull.

Until her mate's older brother comes home wounded from the war needing to recover from both physical and emotional wounds. An immediate attraction sparks between Samantha and this mysterious beast, and she struggles to balance her growing desires and her plans for escaping their alien world.

Then things start to heat up.

2.0 out of 5 stars Misled by my fellow readers' high ratings January 10, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I require certain things in my books that were all missing with this story. Walk through it with me, won't you? (Spoiler alerts) 1. Believability even in a fantasy. *Absent in the fact that the book started out with an alien orgy at a hotel and ends with her ex-boyfriend already knowing her new alien love interest. Really?! In all the universe she dates two men who already know each other?! 2. A natural progression to the relationship with some emotional connection between the M/F leads. *Absent because the "hero" was drugged/ in pain/ being a pain/ or trying to stay away from the main female character for the majority of the book. Then POOF he wants to stay with her forever. I felt the little brother's emotions were much more accessible and I honestly felt more connected to him through out the book 3. I want sex in the first 60% of the book. If I have to wait til 75% of the book is gone then that means that there will be one, maybe two rushed encounters - and then it's over. Not good enough. This was my first foray into this author's work. It will be my last. Sad.

3.0 out of 5 stars 3 1/2 stars December 14, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really liked this book but I didn't love it. I loved the idea behind the story and the author's writing style. The characters were likeable and I found myself engrossed in the story and didn't skip any pages. Yes, there were some editing issues but I was able to easily skip over them and wasn't overly distracted/disturbed by them. So why not 5 stars? Well, let me explain.

***** spoilers *****

1. I like my hero (H) to be a total alpha - strong, powerful, and super possessive. Any deviation makes the hero less appealing to me. The hero in this story was likeable enough BUT throughout the entire book he was injured. Some injury would've been ok but throughout the entire book? I didn't like that and it made him seem weak.

2. The heroine (h) was kidnapped by the H's brother; I definitely would have preferred the H to kidnap the h.

3. The h was supposed to be the mate of the H's brother and I didn't like that aspect at all. It disturbed me greatly and took away from the romance. I found I couldn't relax and enjoy any romantic development because I was worried about the brother. (There's no cheating -thankfully- and the brother was unappealing as a H, being described as a teenager, AND the h doesn't have sex with the brother so she doesn't feel mated to him - but still, it made me uncomfortable with the romance progressing because the h wasn't totally free/available. I really wish that aspect of the story had been left out - that the author would've had the H and h as mates from the beginning instead.

4.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Science Fiction Romance. December 11, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed this book. I gave this book 3 stars because: The book has misspelled words, and word usage errors. While the plot and characters were very interesting, I felt the book was missing something. After taking a few minutes to think about what this book was missing, I have come to the conclusion that the Author did not really build upon the alien world. We start at the abduction to another planet, and end back up on earth, with not much in between.

You know when you are reading a really AWESOME book, you get sucked into the world, and can picture the world in your minds eye, and even become one of the characters. That was what was missing in this book for me. I wasn't pulled in. While I liked the characters and plot, the Author missed a chance to make a good book, AWESOME.

2.0 out of 5 stars This Book Crash Landed in the Second Half December 30, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Super disappointed in this book. I was completely sucked into the first half of the story. I stayed up till late totally committed for an all-nighter. I was looking for a sexy, flirty, easy read romance- I was super surprised to learn that I had downloaded something potentially more. Seemed like the world building was polished and the plot was going to be super exciting. I thought the good reviews might be right. Then at the mid point this book just totally took a nose-dive. WOW! I just don't know what to say...sadly for me the plot just combusted.

I will try to do this without spoilers...There were errors where Kris and Rikist were used in the wrong spot.... and you had to pause for a minute and make sure Sam was talking to the right "person". Our characters started to do bizarre stupid things that were not characteristic to their nature in the first half of the book. Especially Kris and Rikist and even her friend from the beginning, Carly. The plot coincidences were just ridiculous and tedious and motives were weak. To be frank, the last 20 pages were just plain silly and full of plot holes. Everything just wrapped up in a jiffy.

Three stars for the first half. Zero stars for the second.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great alien read December 8, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I loved this book and how it kept me entertained. Gave me what I wanted in terms of abduction, with an entertaining plot of drama and some humanistic traits between the different species. It was also hilarious, especially towards the ending.

I don't recommend this to those who don't like sex or drugged sex, as the aliens induce the human females with horny chemicals to make them go crazy. Other than that, enjoy.
