About the Author
Frederick Bull was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, in 1936. He graduated from Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen, as a landscape painter.
His art has been exhibited at numerous galleries and his work is held in public and private collections both in the UK and abroad.
Frederick Bull was Principal Lecturer in Visual Art, Craigie College of Education and then National Development Officer (Scotland) in Art & Design before he retired in 1992.
He returned to roots in Aberdeen Shire in 1999 to renew his life-long love affair with the north-east and its landscape. He enjoys hill-walking and golf when time allows.
Fred is passionate about the educational potential in linking schools around the Aberdeens, and the formation of a 'Global Family'.
He says he has been 'enriched by the experience' of researching Aberdeens Around the World and 'humbled at the courage of previous generations who left the north-east to find new lives in distant corners of the world'.
