More About the Author

Lisa Regan was born in Philadelphia, a product of two large Irish Catholic families whose roots run deep in her neighborhood. From the moment she was able to put words onto the page, she was writing: poems, stories, and even novels. At age eleven, her parents bought her a typewriter, on which she wrote her first full-length novel. By the time she was eighteen, she had written four terrible young adult novels. Between eighteen and twenty-two, she had a crisis of confidence and although she kept writing, she was unable to finish any novel-length projects. She spent her time working in bookstores while completing college. She spent two years at the Community College of Philadelphia before transferring to Bloomsburg University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in English and a master of education degree. To make ends meet, she worked as both a certified nurse assistant and a karate instructor. In 2002 she finally finished her first adult novel, which remains on a flash drive in her nightstand. In 2006, she finished what would become her first published novel: Finding Claire Fletcher. After being passed over by more than 150 agents and then more than a dozen publishers, her first novel was published in December 2012, followed by her second novel, Aberration, in June 2013. Finding Claire Fletcher won Best Heroine and was runner-up for Best Novel in the 2013 eFestival of Words Best of the Independent eBook Awards. It was a finalist for the Kindle Book Review's Best Kindle Book Awards in 2014. In December 2013, the novel reached number one on Amazon's Bestselling Kidnapping Crime Fiction list; in the same month, her second novel, Aberration reached number one on Amazon's Serial Killer Crime Fiction Bestseller list. Lisa currently resides in Philadelphia with her husband and daughter where she works full time and works on her future novels while waiting in line at the local post office.

Her characters are very well developed and, for the most part, likeable.

Abberation is brilliant!! Intense, creepy and pulse-pounding!!!

Lisa Regan does a spectacular job of describing the scenes in such great detail that you it's like a movie being played out before you. And she gives just the right amount of details - nothing too drawn out or not enough - it's perfect!! And the pace of the book is dead-on! Regan gives just the right amount of tension and build-up. And the twists - wow, so many things I never saw coming!

The story is told from POV's of Kassidy and the For You killer. It's amazing to get inside the mind of a serial killer and see not only how, but why he does things a certain way. You get to know him and his past and his many issues. Getting into the mind of Kassidy is amazing - she is a very strong woman. She has gone through alot of in her life and still refuses to back down and let fear take over her life. As she takes on the "For You" case - you get to see how an FBI agent is able to come to certain conclusions with varying amounts of evidence. You get to see how everything affects her not just professionally, but personally.

You can tell that Regan has done a massive amount of research to make this book as real and true to life as can be. Regan goes into great detail about the mannerisms and behaviors of a psychopaths, serial killers, etc; details about the evidence and how local police officers and FBI operate and different scenarios they are able to come up with based on the evidence. It is amazing - something I would expect more from a seasoned author!!

I refuse to give any details in fear that I may give something away. The entire story is amazing - you get sucked in immediately!! I am definitely going back and rereading because of things I learned later on in the book.

OMG!!! I just finished Aberration.... It is the BEST thriller I have read in FOREVER!!!!!
I had the great privilege to get an Advanced reading copy of Aberration and read the entire book in one day.
The whole book kept me on the edge of my seat and I only stopped for two things, coffee and the potty.
The entire story line is laid out so well it was like watching a movie. I could actually see rooms as Lisa described them. So many times authors describe in detail, for way too long, every aspect of the room from the color of every piece of furniture to the way the carpet lays, but Lisa gets to the main point by telling the description without holding the story back.
I felt every emotion Kassidy felt from beginning to end of this amazing book. Lisa throws the twist and turns in at just the right moment I was biting my nails. I thought I could solve the mystery before the end of the book..... I was so wrong. Lisa Regan is most definitely a great author and will be keeping us on the edge of our seats for years. She deserves way more, but for me she gets 5 Extra large stars!!

I enjoyed this thriller a lot. Kassidy Bishop has had a tough life. Her twin sister died by falling from the window of her eleventh floor dorm room and Kassidy is convinced that she didn't jump. She becomes an FBI agent and, when acting as bait for a serial killer, she is beaten and tortured before someone comes in releases her, hands her her own gun, and lets her kill her attacker. The facial reconstruction and resulting brain damage were enough to have her transferred into the Behavior Analysis Unit at the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime.

She is now working the case of a serial killer who is leaving a message—For You—at the scene of every crime. On the personal front, she is having a long-distance affair with Portland Detective Jory Ralston. They don't meet often but the passion is intense when they do meet. Kass feels very guilty about their relationship because Jory is married. Jory wants to divorce his wife and be with Kass but she is afraid because she fears she will lose him as she has lost many of those close to her.

The story is also told from the viewpoint of the For You killer. It turns out that he is doing his killing for Kassidy. The story of his abusive childhood and assorted mental issues including dissociative identity disorder make it hard to hate him despite the horrible things he does. It is also extremely creepy that he has been stalking Kassidy for more than 20 years.

I can't really say too much more about the plot without some major spoilers. The story was filled with twists and turns as we saw the events from both Kassidy's and the killer's points of view. The story-telling technique managed to keep building the tension all the way to the stunning resolution. Fans of psychological thrillers will really enjoy this one.

I can't say enough about this book I am telling all my friends about "ABERRATION". I found it an easy read, It big printing, and short chapters, and it was also easy to keep up with the story. I don't read suspense mysteries to much but I can't wait until I read your next story . I am not a fast reader but I read this book in a few days it kept my interest.
As I said before I can't wait to read your next book.
