Andrew Murray's book is written in a 31 chapter format so that it can be used as a daily devotional. That is a good thing since each reading takes a little while to chew on. The biggest strength in Andrew Murray's writing is his emphasis on how it is God's desire for us to abide, not just a nice idea on our part.

If you Own only One Book (besides the Bible), this should be THE ONE!

To keep it short, I will say that God, through Andrew Murray's books, has brought me in to the most beautiful and personal place. He's really taken me and shown me who He REALY is, and that in turn has made me want to know Him even more intimately. The first book I ever read of Andrew Murray's was "Abide in Christ", and it changed my life forever. God has continued to call me in deeper, and has given me such a burning passion and closeness with Himself that I didn't know was posssible to have.
I pray that God's Spirit would open the eyes of your heart and make every word a living reality in your life. That you would know Him, in the truest sense of the word, and that He would captivate you by His ferocious Love. May He bring you to the sweet surrender of heart and life, the beauty of His holiness (for it is surely yours to have), and Love everlasting. Grace to you and peace from Christ above. May He have the glory. [Read Ephesians 3:16-21] May His Beloved ones be made children of the burning heart.

Anything by Andrew Murray is great, deep reading. This is no different. Abide in Christ is a reminder of what our life in Christ is supposed to be like, we are to "abide in Christ." In a very readable manner, Murray sets out to show us we are worthy to live a life fully connected to Christ. It is God who grafts us (our branches) onto the vine (Christ). he nourishes us and provides for us and loves us to help us become faithful followers and doers, which leads to us becoming fruitful and prodcutive for the kingdom of God. An excellent, must read.
