About the Author

Born in Eugene Oregon, BD Nelson spent most of her life in the Northwest. Her third grade teacher encouraged her to continue writing and although her life took a different path, she never forgot the words of encouragement, or the story she'd written. She majored in Accounting while working full time doing bookkeeping and tax preparation, and waiting tables, while raising her two children, but continued to write in her "spare time." BD Nelson is a member of The Willamette Writers of Portland, Oregon and has written several short stories; APARTMENT 304 and ONE FOR SHOW-TWO FOR THE MONEY, are two that have been published in THIRTY FABULOUS STORIES: AN ANTHOLOGY, edited by Larry Parr. Aside from ABIGAIL'S CRIES, she has completed two other novels: THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY and SCORNED awaiting publication. BD Nelson has also written a chidren's book: MR. TOOL'S FARM, which was donated to a religious organization in 1991, and a short story: TOMORROWS DREAM, published in 1994.

More About the Author

BD Nelson is a down to earth Oregonian, who loves to camp, fish, garden, and go on nature walks. She loves children, dogs and hanging out with her friends. Nothing out of the ordinary until it comes to her writing.

Writing has been her passion from childhood. The choice of mystery/suspense being BD Nelson's preferred genre, both in reading and writing. Whether she's snuggled up next to her hubby watching a movie, cuddled up on the couch with a good book, or having lunch with her best friend, BD Nelson's mind churns out scenes for a new story.

This is one book you don't want to put down. You get to know all the characters and feel for them, some good some bad. You may think you know how it's going to end,but you don't. And when it does end you're left wondering where the next book will take you and the characters.

This book is one that really grips the reader from the beginning and you are hard pressed to put it down.
The characters are well formed, you really get involved with them over the course of the book.
The story thread is well established so the reader sits on chair's edge and pushes onward to find resolution to the chilling plot.
I write thrillers, myself, so it is hard to pull the wool over my eyes when it comes to who done it, but Ms. Nelson really got me out foxed. I was certain I knew who did it, but in the end I was completely fooled!
Good job. Well written. I am looking forward to reading her next book which I have already gotten for my ebook.

Thanks for the good read and I look forward to more suspense from this author. She really is well worth the read!

Rarely do I find a book I can't step away from. Abigail's Cries devoured my entire Sunday. I could not put it down. The author's voice has that conversational flow that puts the reader at ease just long enough to creep up on you. The story is a masterpiece of quiet horror that had me looking over my shoulder like a good Stephen King novel. I don't want to risk giving away even a snippet of the plot other than to say that this tale of a small town innocently under siege is not like anything I've read before. Just when I thought I had it figured out, it turned in another direction It torques up and then unwinds with an evil that takes great pleasure in destroying the nicest people. This could easily be an instant classic.

Let me state for the record, that I don't like scary books, movies or videos. I don't like the feeling of suspense. But I HAD to read this book and before I could help myself, I was swept up in the plot of innocent everyday people experiencing terrifying, sinister events in their lives. I could not put the book down! It was amazing and just when I thought I knew who was behind the evil, another chapter would reveal yet another suspenseful twist! An absolute MUST to read!!!

This book is an intriguing mystery with many twists and turns. The author describes each character in such detail you feel you know them. Alas, many of them do not make it to the end. But many do, and the continuation of Abigail's Cries will be snapped up in minutes!
