If you register for it, they have a lifetime warranty, though, so no problem right?

Got these from Costco mainly for travel use.
Good
- Ok noise canceling in an airplane, although can't really compare to the more expensive noise canceling headphones.
- Good sound quality.
- Came with an airplane adaptor.
- Headphone cable is detachable.
- Foldable.
- Handy carrying pouch.
Bad
- Within the first month, one of the headphone plates with the name came off, even after using these quite gently - always putting them back in the pouch, handling delicately, etc.
- Within the second month, the second plate came off.
- After 3 months, the headphones just died.

The headphones are awesome. They are stylish, have great sound, the noise cancellation knocked out the sound of the airplane (over the wing on 4 flights), and they are portable because of the design.

HOWEVER (this is where the beware part comes in), the locking mechanism of the headphones is plastic and breaks easily. If you register for it, they have a lifetime warranty, though, so no problem right? WRONG. When I tried to get a ticket for repair, I was informed that:

"In order to qualify for the warranty you would have to have registered your product within 30 days of purchase. Your information is not in our system which dis-qualifies you for a warranty. I’m sorry, I am not able to create a Return Authorization for you-I can offer you an open box product if you’re interested or a 50% discount off any product on website excluding promotional items."

I had read a review of the product with the same opinion as mine with the caveat that you have to keep all packaging materials or void the warranty, so I did so and registered my product online 4 days after purchase. (I printed the confirmation page.) As I paid less for these headphones than I would for some cheapies off the shelf at Target (Thank you, Amazon.), I plan to just eat the cost as I would if I had gone to Target and get some Sol Republics.

The product could be great, but the company behind it makes them worthless. Who wants to do business with someone who doesn’t stand behind their product and takes great pains not to do so? I’m not into throwing away money!

I do not recommend buying Able Planet products. I bought a brand new, retail packaged pair of $350 Clear Harmony NC1050 that failed within two weeks. Under warranty, I requested a repair or replacement, per their written terms on the warranty card. What they sent back were a pair of USED Sound Clarity NC510B ($149 - they called them "open box" but the padding clearly was worn down). When I complained they said they don't have anything else that is an equal replacement. After multiple emails, including to their VP of Sales and Marketing, I was promised a new $199 pair. This was still not a fair replacement but they never even sent those! So, buy at your own risk because if your headphones fail, you can't count on this company to honor their warranty or to act in an ethical way.

I've used this when I took flight from Chicago to Hong Kong. Noise reduction is great. All the fan sound is reduced to humming. I can enjoy the inflight movie with lower volumn. Normally I need to raise the volumn to drown out the outside noise. I never compare this to BOSE. But I think the noise reduction is pretty good. Battery life is good too. Last throughout the flight and I think it'll last longer than this.

The sound is great. There's good amount of treble and bass which make it enjoyable to listen in flight. I still haven't face any quality issue with this headphones. I'll let you guys know if it breaks. I normally take care of my stuff. So when I fold this headphone, I make sure to do it slowly.

Love these headphones. They pack small enough for traveling but have great sound and the noise canceling quality is wonderful when flying.

UPDATE: My daughter had these for two months and they broke - Seller wouldn't do anything as they said they had a 30 day warranty and manufacturer wouldn't do anything as the headphones weren't registered within 30 days. Very disappointed and a waste of money.

I purchased these based on the reviews they got. It was a gift for my daughter who needed them for college. A year later she reports no issues and says they work very well. In addition, I looked at other similar products extensively before deciding to purchase these so I do believe them to be of superior quality at a reasonable price. My daughter would have personally preferred a more neutral color - but as much as the kids like to decorate things with tape and sharpies I doubt the color or pattern is something that can't be overcome.

Update of review - My 16 year old son has inherited these headphones and he is notoriously hard on headphones (has literally gone through dozens) and after two months with him they still work perfectly. His friends have tried them and report the noise cancelling feature is very good.

Cant go wrong for a travel pair with noise cancel.
Great sound quality, better than my Bose.
Hinge is durable, just wish it came with a better case.
