I saw an interview where the CEO was touting the Linx technology, so naturally I was eager to try them out. After comparing it to several headphones, it sounds muddy. The bass is emphasized (which I prefer), but everything sounds congested, or muffled. I guess the Linx technology colors the music. Since the technology was developed for hearing aids, I tried listening to vocals. I did notice a slight improvement in the ability to separate the different background vocalists. Unfortunately, this doesn't improve listening pleasure.

I'm not sure how to describe the sound from these headphones. The highs of the cymbals are noticeably absent, and the bass gradually fades below 50 hz. When plugged in to the Ipod Touch, the music sounded dull, and it always felt like I was missing part of the music. My Motorola has a graphical EQ, so I was able to shape the sound. It improved the music a little, but it's still seemed unnatural. On the plus side, it doesn't sound shrill, or tinny.

I was really hoping these would sound better, because I love the design. It's the right size for the gym, and the headband is made of metal, so it fits securely on your head, and is quite sturdy. They will not fall off when you're jogging or at the gym. Also, I noticed that it's pretty good at obscuring external sounds, especially conversations, even though they're open type headphones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound, great value., October 11, 2010
This review is from: Headphones, PS300 Stereo (Electronics)
These headphones far exceeded my expectations. Comparable to Bose or Sony, in both sound quality, and noise canceling you cannot pass them up for the cost. The real benefit of these headphones is the noise cancellation, which works quite well on trains or planes. Good value. Sound clarity/precision Excellent, ideal for classic music enthusiasts.
