Book Description

0471692387 978-0471692386 January 17, 2006 10
Kring, Davison, Neale, and Johnson's Abnormal Psychology sets the standard for clarity, cutting-edge coverage, authoritative content, and clinical emphasis. The authors invite students to examine the many different facets of psychopathology -- to search for clues, follow-up on hunches, and evaluate evidence on the origins of these disorders and the effectiveness of specific interventions.

Now in their new 10th Edition, the authors have also greatly expanded the text's pedagogical features, making it even more student-friendly, engaging, and informative.

"Current trends in the field are well reflected with the sections on genetics, neuroscience, and cognitive science." - Jack Nitschke,University of Wisconsin

"I was particularly impressed by the skill with which the authors were able to discuss complex material in a clear fashion." - Janice Kiecolt-Glaser, Ohio State University

5.0 out of 5 stars Psychology plain and simple, March 9, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Abnormal Psychology (Hardcover)
This book has everything a student could need for the study of abnormal psychology. It's organised, readable, and accurate. The case studies really bring it all together in "real world" examples. The only caution I would give is that the 10th addition has some major changes from the 9th, so make sure, if you are using it for a class, that it's the edition the rest of your class is using.

4.0 out of 5 stars Abnormal Psychology Textbook: Perspective of a Psychology Student, March 29, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Abnormal Psychology (Hardcover)
The textbook, Abnormal Psychology, fed my growing interest of not only psychology in general, but clinical psychology. Being a student of psychology that is searching to find a niche, this book provided me with the general knowledge needed in order to make a decision about what I want to do with my degree, my job, and my life.
