There are few better ways to discover the many facets of abnormal psychology than to examine real clinical situations.
Now, with Davison, Neale, and Kring’s Abnormal Psychology 9/e with Cases, you get a variety of extended case studies from Oltmanns, Neale, and Davison’s Case Studies in Abnormal Psychology, 6/e. The cases, which are integrated in the text at the end of each disorder chapter, are all based on actual clinical situations. Each case study describes a specific clinical problem and provides a foundation on which to organize and further discuss the material in the chapter.
Together, the text and integrated cases provide an opportunity to explore many points of view in our ever-changing search for answers to the complex questions of psychopathology and gain a better understanding of how and why we act the way we do.

This review is from: Abnormal Psychology, With Cases (Hardcover)
On the back of this text it states "1,000,000 can't be wrong!" And after using this text for the past month I can see why, among the myriad of Abnormal Psych. texts available, this one is considered heads above all the others. The authors write in a way that is accessable to undergraduates and/or graduate students (like myself)who are studying this subject matter for the first time. They go in depth on etiology, assessment, treatment, and prognosis on a myriad of DSM-IV-TR disorders. Don't let the price scare you away. Text books are like anything else; you get what you pay for. Purchases such as this one are an investment in your career. Don't short-change yourself. Buy the best!
